The military leader of pro-Russian rebels in the eastern Ukrainian city of Donetsk, Igor Girkin - known as Strelkov - has resigned.
Alexander Borodai, the former PM of the self-declared Donetsk People's Republic, confirmed the news but denied reports Mr Strelkov had been wounded.

CNN is reporting that the leader in Luhansk resigned, as well. And Borodai resigned earlier. Looks like when the going gets tough, the tough get going.

It doesn’t seem like much of a choice: stay, and get the rope and a tree or go, and get to keep your stolen Mercedes and be treated like a hero in your native Moscow.

Aid Convoy is an hour away from the Krasnodon (rebel controlled) Border post, on the road to Luhansk. It has stopped for the night.
Two Mobile air defense units have been brought up to protect it.
IMO, they will likely try to push the border after dawn. Under escort.....
Kiev fired two SS-21 ballistic missiles at Donetsk today, killing a bunch of civilians, and the Russians are PO’d about it, to say the least.
What Obama says in his presser will say a lot.
He probably wants his old job back in Moscow
Putin wants to invade. He’s wanted that for a long time. Now that his proxies are exposed and beaten it won’t be long till he will send in his regular forces. He’s hell bent on reestablishing the Soviet empire.
Western media following the convoy have been told they can look into any truck they like, they are finding only food and supplies.

I’d hate to be him with the rating he’s going to get from the FSB during his annual appraisal. But it could be worse. Under Stalin, he’d have been shot already.

I agree that the guy is a loose cannon. But Putin might want to keep him close, throw him a state contract here and there, and tell him to keep his mouth shut or the FSB will come calling.
