Thomas Ravenel: Lindsey Graham Needs to Give Us a Price Tag, Body Count, for His Vision in Iraq

Lowcountry businessman and independent U.S. Senate candidate Thomas Ravenel today issued the following statement challenging Lindsey Graham to stop “warmongering and fearmongering” and provide taxpayers with the specific costs associated with his vision for Iraq.

During an appearance on “Fox News Sunday,” Graham said U.S. president Barack Obama needed to “go on the offensive” against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

“First of all, I’m confused by Senator Graham’s statements,” Ravenel said. “Didn’t his buddy John McCain recently pose with ISIS fighters that our government supported in Syria? How exactly does he square that? Why would we support ISIS in one country yet bomb it in another?”

Ravenel also said Graham’s “if we don’t go there, they will come here” argument was nothing but “recycled McCain rhetoric.”

“John McCain spouted the same nonsense in 2008,” Ravenel said. “Nobody bought it then, and nobody’s buying it now. Here’s my challenge to Lindsey Graham: Stop fearmongering using other people’s sound bites – and other people’s blood and treasure – and give us some hard numbers. Tell us exactly how much is it going to cost to mold Iraq into the country you want it to be? We know trillions of dollars and thousands of lives have already been lost there in the name of ‘nation-building’ – yet the situation is worse than it’s ever been. So tell us Senator: How many more trillions of dollars is it going to take? How many more dead heroes? How many more lost limbs? How many more shattered families? How many more PTSD victims?”

“It’s telling that Linsdey Graham had time to appear on yet another insider talk show in Washington, D.C. – yet he still refuses to answer to the people by participating in the citizen-led town hall debates I’ve proposed,” Ravenel said. “Every candidate in this race needs to stand before the people and hear their views and answer their questions – especially Lindsey Graham.”

Whatever happens in SC in November, I'm enjoying SOMEBODY hitting Graham hard.

This Ravenel character sounds like someone from Code Pink. His pronouncements rail against drones, Gitmo, and how we are perceived by the maniacs in the ME. Anyone outside the fever swamps of the anti-war hard left or the Ron Paulites should not consider voting for this guy.

Problem is ISIS has stated that we are a target. It may take awhile but the bullseye is still on our country. I agree in not arming anyone in Syria. We should have armed the Kurds and a couple of others. Now people are dying by the thousands at the hands of ISIS.

Her is more garbage from this Ravenel’s own website.

“American leaders need to break from the interventionist policies of the past, focusing on specific

policies detrimental to how the U.S. in perceived by the Islamic community, including the continued manipulation of Middle-Eastern affairs, an unrestrained use of Predator Drones, and the ethical dilemmas surrounding Guantanamo Bay, while nurturing potentially positive relationships in the region.”

Sounds like this guy mike like wearing Birkenstocks.

Oddly, these Dems don’t feel the need to give us a “body count” for their pro-terrorist policies.

We console ourselves with the knowledge that SC has a stellar US House delegation (except for Clyburn and Sanford). We have Tim Scott, and DeMint does what he can at Heritage. I cannot abide Graham. I was hopeful when this Ravenel popped up on the radar and was ready to tolerate his "eccentricities." But he he is a spoiled brat trading on his daddy's name.

People here have such reverence for names. (Seems to be the same everywhere in this mobocracy.) Otherwise this Ravenel bufoon would never have received any attention.

the guy is going to get obliterated. he’s an embarrassment. but the outlanders in the “anybody but [fill in the blank]” crowd frequently get ahead of themselves, and start trying to hype whack jobs.

“...issued the following statement challenging Lindsey Graham to stop “warmongering and fearmongering”.”

He really didn’t need to go beyond that. Properly portraying Graham as what he is, an advocate for a totalitarian police state, is good enough.

“No, senator Graham, America would NOT be better off as a prison, its people always menaced at gunpoint by secret police, spies, and soldiers. If you cannot control your paranoid neurotic impulses, then you should not be in the US senate. Stop freaking out, senator.”

And the faggot commie Granholm is engaged in treason.

. . . I assume you aren’t talking about the former governor of michigan. although people frequently wondered if she was a genuine socialist, I don’t recall anyone ever accusing her of being gay.

HELL YEAH!!! But, my question is this: What news outlet carried these remarks by Ravenel? Stuff like this is great to read on Free Republic, but, does the general public have access to this or is it just on a blog? Did he call a news conference and offer this challenge to Graham through the media or on Facebook? Actually, his comments, with a little tweaking would make a great 60 second Ad.

I meant Graham, not Granholm.

Oops!

And yes, Granholm, former governor of Michigan, is a thieving commie. The bitch owes me $370,000.

Have a great day.

Oh really?? Well, to be quite honest, being from a long line of military men in my family, and having served myself, I used to be somewhat of a war monger myself. But, I’m a little tired of American boys and girls being killed and maimed in those shit-hole Islamic nations. Nothing is going to change their thinking, culture or way of life. We lost 55,000 American lives in Vietnam and then pulled out and the Communist took over South Vietnam and the entire country is now Communist. So, whassup with that?

DAMN!!! There sure are a lot of Lindsey Graham supporters on this website. No wonder we can't get rid of the RINOs when so many FReepers are freakin' in love with Pat Roberts, Thad Cochran, Mitch McConnell and Lindsey Graham. If all of you who are attackin Ravenel aren't voting for Graham, who the hell are you voting for; Hutto, the Democrat?

Has this Ravenel moron ever heard of ISIS? Graham at least has a brain. I’d vote for the poofta over Ravenel.
