Vatican UN envoy says military action justified to save Christians in Iraq

The Vatican’s representative at UN headquarters in Geneva has said that “military action in this moment is probably necessary” to curb the slaughter of Christians in Iraq.

Archbishop Silvani Tomasi told Vatican Radio that in the long run, the only solution to Iraq’s problems will come with “a dialogue of reconciliation and the acceptance of diversity,” with a regime that ensures equal rights for all. But in the immediate future, the crucial question is the survival of the country’s Christian minority.

The archbishop said that it has been difficult to persuade “the Western powers to take a strong stance in defense of the Christians.” But as reports of atrocities reach the Western world, he said, he hopes for a mobilization of public opinion in favor of humanitarian aid “as well as some political and even effective military protection.”

Well that’s a switch. I guess it all depends on whose ox is being gored.

Too little, too late.

The appropriate response to the jihad that has been started against Christians and all other non-moslem “infidels” can be expressed in one word: Crusade.

I believe it is justified. But who will supply the troops and money? Our Pres__ent barry surely won’t.

Sure. When it is 1,000,000 Iraqi citizens who defied or simply irritated Saddam war was unjust. Even when it eliminated a threat to the entire region and World. Now that pictures of mass murder are available it is now justified to go to war.

ISIS is no more a threat to Iraqis than Saddam Hussein ever was. they are actually the government a large percentage of the citizens want, just like Hamas in Gaza. The difference is that we can see the death of the Christians on Twitter and YouTube.

The Vatican has been losing credibility with its’ constant harping on things that they should be quiet about. The U.S. protecting its’ border, the idea that the Worlds Democracies and Free Market Capitalists have anything to do with poverty. Instead they are silent on how self proclaimed members of their own Church actually vote in elections and conduct themselves in civil society.

Dear Pope. Please, SHUT UP! You are not Worldly wise enough to make a cogent argument about most subjects. You are becoming an embarrassment for those of us who are actual practicing and believing Catholics.

Making yourself more palatable to those who commit evil does not ingratiate yourself to those looking for true salvation.
