After hundreds of people rioted and looted in Ferguson, Missouri, Sunday evening to protest the death of Michael Brown an unarmed, black 18-year-old whom a police officer shot over the weekend CNN anchor Don Lemon sympathized with the rioters and lawbreakers.
Appearing as a guest on Brooke Baldwin's CNN show Monday, Lemon said, "this is about the treatment of men of color in our society."
"They are treated differently whether it be law enforcement, whether it be at work, whether it be at a grocery store, whether it be on the street," he said. "They are treated differently, and... they get a different level of respect."
Lemon said there is a "double standard," and unless "white people" realize that "black people, especially black men are treated differently," then "nothing is going to change."
He said the rioting is "terrible," and went on, "I hate when people riot and what happened in Katrina" However, he explained, "...but when people are put in dire situations, you don't know how they are going to react." Lemon clearly emphasized that he was not saying rioting is right and personally urges people "to be peaceful and calm."
"I am not saying I agree with them, but I understand," he said.
Former NYPD detective Gil Alba told Lemon that rioting and looting ruin the relationship between the police and the community.
"There should never be rioting," Alba said.
Lemon replied, "When people are frustrated, they react the way they are going to react. I don't agree with them, but I do understand it."
After Alba said, "you can't understand it," Lemon replied, "I do understand it."(continued)

The black queen understands. Feel better now?
Black people, black men, ACT differently. If they act like feral animals, people just aren’t going to love up on them and respect them. Gosh, can’t imagine why not.
Stupid a$$
That answer might explain it.

If they were treated as equals at work (for instance, facing the same requirements as whites), I’d have a lot more respect for them. The double standard applied to them is exactly why people should be very careful in dealing with them; if a cop shot a white person in Ferguson we wouldn’t even know it.
“I hate when people riot and what happened in Katrina,”
CNN’s Ted Baxter AKA Don Lemon
I’m reminded of the lady singer, name escapes me, who expressed some admiration for young people in a country experiencing a severe famine, for this condition enabling them to lose a lot of weight and look thin.
And that sounded really great to her, except for all the flies and death and stuff. Maria something.
“black people, especially black men are treated differently,”
He is correct. Barry Obama will be treated differently than either of us on Martha’s Vineyard.
BLACKS Are different(generally)...
The black culture in America is poisonous.. flawed.. malicious..
Few blacks can overcome it.. the brain wash is powerful..
The propaganda is wide and deep... driven from “above”.. politically..
Many blacks are exactly like Pavlov’s dogs..
A story most are afraid to consider..
John Birch was more correct than he ever knew..
Animal Farm.... in reality.. i.e. big brother..
Obama was treated differently from any whites from day one, whether in regards to his teleprompter, lack of qualifications/experience, lack of competence, etc.
He is the epitome of “the soft bigotry of lowered expectations”; singing his praises for accomplishing nothing at all makes him even more contemptible. I know a few blacks that are each worth ten Obamas, and they’ll have to deal with suspicion from others because he set the bar so low...
I may be a very screwed up person but I am more upset about the dogs the police needlessly kill on a routine basis than I am with an incident like this where the cop may have been in the right.
Funny when those on the Right protested peacefully in the last 5 years these same Leftists demonized those peaceful protestors showing no willingness to understand them while now they are sympathetic toward violent riotors.
the soft bigotry of lowered expectations; <<
Ahhhh Where have i heard that before???....Please enlighten us!
.....and I understand Don Lemmon...
Not that it does any good..
Yo, that be just an excuse to do some early Christmas “shopping.”
Welp, far as I can see, Donny Boy, you should be treated differently.
You seem dangerous as Hell to me, and I wouldn’t want to be anywhere near you.
People who jump at the first opportunity to loot every store in their neighborhood are treated differently by police than people who wouldn’t dream of it. Now why would that be?
