Unfortunately, nothing good. All you can do then is run, hide and pray you are overlooked.

Been there, done that, had a really ugly week in Los Angeles in 1992.

Also, as Secret Agent Man points out above - improvise and find something that you can try to defend yourself with. Weighted walking sticks are personal favorites for ‘innocuous’ weapons.

I’ll roll with .308 Robinson arms Xcr, that’s my favourite one.

There’s been both quality control and customer service issues with Robinson Arms, enough to make me want to stay away from them. http://www.ar15.com/archive/topic.html?b=6&f=2&t=338018

Their customer service is legendarily bad and they will actively not help customers who post poor reviews on forums.

There’s a neighbor on my street that if things get ugly I’ll scurry over there.

I had “serious” AR type rifles in the Army and they always worked for me. The US military has only been using them for 50 years or so now and other militaries have been adopting them. Not bad for an “unserious” rifle is it?

God bless her. Are you on the cancer ping list? Not heavy traffic and good info comes through it.
If you don’t mind, keep us (me?) informed of how she’s doing. I’m interested. I have breast cancer for the second time in 2 years right now. We’ll go forward together. :)

Serious as opposed to recreational-only. Direct impingement rifles are pretty much consigned to recreational status (for me) because of how they operate, exhausting carbon and other fouling agents right into the receiver. It’s difficult to clean the baked in carbon out, it means ammo choice is absolutely critical and the most common way to keep the weapon functional in the field, ‘running it wet’ is a great way to end up with a weapon coated in sand that’s non-functional. I have plenty of friends and family that have have used the AR in combat everywhere from Vietnam to the current Sandbox and most of them comment about how their ARs were often jam-tacular under adverse conditions despite keeping them as clean as possible.

It is instructive to note that the new Marine-issue IAR is an AR-type rifle with a piston gas system, not direct impingement.

Admiral Yamamoto of the Japanese Imperial Navy said it best, a gun behind every blade of grass. Some of us have been expecting and preparing for the ghetto pimple to rupture for quite some time. The amount of fire power in these quiet suburbs and quaint country settings should give idiots like this pause ... but it won’t.

Legal action needs to be taken against “Twitter “

They are allowing their system to be used by criminals to plan illegal activities

The race riots are coming. there will NEVER be enough goodies for the black ghetto culture. More, more, more, gimmee, gimmee, gimmee. That’s how they exist.
I live in GA, very near Atlanta. Fairburn, the next little community, is all black. Actually not ghetto. Many, many Africans there and they deplore the American black culture. But i know Atlanta will burn. (again)

Get a gun Stonehouse. Like the advice says, at least get a bat. Don’t be a defenseless victim. You have to change your mindset first. Be willing to defend yourself, with firepower if necessary. For your child(ren)

These commie thugs have no intention of rioting in white neighborhoods and getting shot. They will send children to do the work. Guaranteed.

I used to have a little portable umbrella where the stopper had snapped off. So when I pushed the open button the umbrella portion would fly right off. I figured that I could hit someone in the face with enough force to break their nose at a distance of about 15-20 feet. Which could knoco them down but regardless would distract them and buy me a few seconds of additional time.

Also, once the main part of the umbrella flew off I was left with the handle and 12” (or so) metal rod that could be used as a stabbing weapon. Again, not an ideal solution but better than nothing in a situation where beggars couldn’t be choosers.
