Nigeria announces 10 Ebola cases as outbreak spreads

Nigeria has confirmed a new case of Ebola in its financial capital, Lagos. Senegal and Rwanda have each announced their first suspected cases, as nations take measures to halt the spread of the deadly virus.

Nigeria on Monday confirmed its 10th case of Ebola in its largest city and financial capital, Lagos. Health minister Onyebuchi Chukwu said the latest confirmed case was a female nurse involved in the care of a Liberian-American man who died of Ebola in a Lagos hospital on July 25. Only one other infected person who, like all the other cases, had contact with the man, has died so far. Nigeria has banned the transport of corpses across national and state borders as it tries to help stem the outbreak of the deadly disease, which has killed almost 1,000 people across West Africa. This means that Nigerians who die of Ebola in other African countries will have to be buried in the community where their death occurs.

Bring Out Your Dead

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.

So far the false positive rate is 100%.

At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

*sigh* Such is life, and death...

So if I get a call from the Nigerian Ebola relief fund, I should make a big donation? ... Nah.

Here’s one good reason that the US and other 1st world countries are unlikely to close their borders to travelers known to be coming from Ebola-infected countries.

Once the US does that, it opens the door for reciprocal action if, or more likely, when, the US is forced to acknowledge its first domestic case of the disease.

Oh, this is just dandy. Infected Nigerians will definitely show up here, as, according to what I read several years ago, one can buy all sorts of counterfeit diplomas, passports, certificates, etc. So someone could enter this country from Nigeria with some sort of phony paperwork certifying that he is disease-free.

Okay, this crap is making me crazy. I asked doc1019 this very question below tow days ago and today its on Govt Slaves. His answer was classic by the way, "I'm not a doctor." LOL, I feel like I'm in the Truman Show. ‎8‎/‎9‎/‎2014‎ ‎4‎:‎32‎:‎15‎ ‎PM · 29 of 34 Cats Pajamas to doc1019 Nebraska biocontainment unit prepared for the worst Doc, I have a dumb question. These ebola patients, their waste fluids, some (needles, bloody linens) goes I assume into biohazard bags but does other like fecal waste go into the regular sewage system? Just wondering since there are always stories of fecal matter having too high a count in drinking water systems (and boil water alerts after) how would they handle that if it got into municipal water supplies since they treat waste water and then some goes back into municipal supplies? Post Reply | Private Reply | To 7 | View Replies http://govtslaves.info/ebola-virus-released-atlanta-sewage-treatment-plant/ In Florida we get boil water notices all the damn time because some minimum wage loser is texting his Friday night regular and didn't shut a valve when he was supposed to and something bad backed up in a pipe. Sheesh and people on this very website are telling me oh no the government wouldn't test 21st century plagues on our people here unless they know they could stop it. Yea, okay whatever you gotta tell yourself to get through the day.

Not so good. Obviously you can’t be hauling these bodies around form place to place so I’m glad they stopped that.

These countries need to close their borders, they should have already done so. Nothing and no one in or out for a month. That should stop it from spreading.

Fecal waste in Ebola ( and bleeding ulcer among others ) victims is black from internal bleeding and people are warned to stay away. So, if there is an overburdened or inadquate sanitary waste system it might be a serious problem; rats and what nots tracking through it.

Question is, how is the bed pan waste of ebola victims disposed of in these African treatment centers?
