(CNSNews.com) – So far in fiscal 2014, which began on Oct. 1, the number of unaccompanied alien children (UAC) and “family units” (parent and child/children) apprehended at the U.S. border with Mexico has increased 100 percent and 471 percent, respectively, over fiscal 2013, according to new statistics released by Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

According to the data posted on CBP’s website, the number of UACs apprehended as of July 31, or the first 10 months of fiscal year 2014 was 62,998--a 100 percent increase over the number of UACs apprehended in fiscal year 2013 (Oct. 1 through Sept. 30), which totaled 31,491.

According to CBP, the number of family units apprehended at the border was up 471 percent in fiscal year 2014 so far (62,856) from fiscal year 2013 (11,001).

As CNSNews.com reported earlier, the numbers of UACs as of June 30, 2014 totaled 57,525, or an increase of 106 percent from fiscal year 2013, and the number of family units increased 493 percent over the same time period for a total of 55,420.

But while the totals have decreased slightly over the course of 11 months in 2014 – from 106 to 100 percent for UACs and from 493 percent to 471 percent for family units – the number of UACs and family units coming across the border continues to grow.

In the first 10 months of fiscal year 2014 (through June 30), the total of UACs apprehended was 57,525. For the first 11 months of fiscal year 2014 the total of UACs was 62,998 – an increase of 9.5 percent.

For family units, 55,420 were apprehended in the first 10 months of fiscal year 2014, compared with 62,856 for the first 11 months – an increase of 13 percent.

According to CBP, the total number of Other Than Mexicans (OTMs) apprehended at the border for fiscal year 2014 through June 30 was 202,951. That number includes both the UACs and family units from countries Other Than Mexico (OTM).

The new number of OTMs apprehended at the border for fiscal year 2014 through July 31 is 227,279 – an increase of almost 12 percent.

It is inhumane to keep those poor children in this country. They must be returned into the loving arms of their parents. It is the humane thing to do. Every child needs parents to nurture them in their development to adulthood, not the US government.

The US is no different than a pedophile who offers a candy bar to lure a child into his car or home to sexually exploit.
