Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman has called for EU “inspectors” to monitor Gaza’s borders amid efforts to extend a ceasefire, in a German newspaper interview published Thursday.
“Not police or soldiers. But Germany and the EU must dispatch inspectors to Gaza to monitor the Palestinians’ trade with the neighboring countries,” Liberman told the mass-circulation Bild daily in comments published in German.
“The EU already did that once at a crossing in Rafah in the south of Gaza,” he said. …

What a position to be in, when the Israelis have to ask the Germans to ‘watch their back’. I say that in jest, observing the irony, and knowing most modern day Germans have moved on from that old dangerous way of thinking.

Israel needs to monitor, do this herself. It’s absurd, after all she’s been through, that she doesn’t just do it like any nation would. (This is not a criticism of Germany. I’m only commenting on Jerusalem )

And when Hamas told them it was time to leave, they split. I certainly wouldn't trust the EU, but then they have to get through Egypt before getting to the EU inspectors.
