Upset Voter Confronts Obama Supporting Democrat Rep. (Article and Video from WV re EPA and coal)

Coming into the midterm elections, Democrats across the country are attempting to distance themselves from President Obama and his many failed policies, and who could blame them? With historically low approval numbers and the majority of Americans thinking our nation is worse off than when he took office, supporting him now would be the kiss of death in certain states where his agenda has had the worst effects. West Virginia is one of them.

A video posted to YouTube Monday shows a concerned West Virginia voter questioning Democratic Senate candidate Natalie Tennant on her support for Obama, specifically his anti-coal policies, and she doesn’t seem to have a good reason why.

The man explained to Tennant that he has a family to support, like many other across the coal-producing state, then asked how she could stand behind the policies that have decimated the industry. When it came time to answer his question, the Senate hopeful seemed to be at a loss for words.

“I agree with you,” Tennant told the man. “That’s exactly what I said.”

The man pressed her further, asking “Then why were you supporting Obama?”

“That’s exactly what I said to the EPA,” she repeated.

Tennant then tried to tell the man that she’s “as upset as you are,” but he wasn’t buying it.

When the man called her out for dodging his question, Tennant agreed that she didn’t answer it, but she couldn’t give a reason as to why. It was only after her campaign chairman interrupted and said “she agrees on most of his policies” that the confrontation ended.

Following the incident, the Charleston Daily Mail reported that Maj. Gen. Allen Tackett “misspoke” when he made the statement, according to campaign spokeswoman Jenny Donahue.

“The general misspoke. Natalie does not support the majority of the president’s policies,” Donohue said Monday evening.

“The only thing that influences Natalie Tennant’s policies is what’s right for the people of West Virginia. She’ll stand up to the president when he’s wrong, and she’ll work with anyone who’s willing to do what’s right for West Virginia.”

Donahue claimed that the man seen in the video was a “tracker,” or someone paid to follow political candidates and capture their comments on tape.

After watching the video, the man seemed a bit more impassioned than someone who gets paid, wouldn’t you say? It sounds like they’re doing damage control more than anything.

Be sure to share this story if you’re tired of lawmakers lying to our faces.

If this were a Republican being confronted, it would be all over this evening’s network news shows, and The Daily Show.

But, since this a DEMOCRAT being challenged, they won’t DARE to show it.
(Not if they want to keep those cushy media jobs they have, at least)

Anyone know if any recent polls have been released with her & Moore-Capito? Think last one I saw had Moore-Capito up double digits.
I would think all Moore-Capito would have to do is hammer her with the coal/EPA issue & done deal.
Also, I’m sure this dimwit would get pummeled in a debate.

This is why I use term Democratcare instead of Obamacare. More accurate and stingy to any Dumbcocrats in an interview or debate.

With all due respect to the West Virginia voter and his parents, please consider the following. As a consequence of the voter’s parents not making sure that their son was taught about the federal government’s constitutionally limited powers, their son is not able to express his grievance against the federal government by arguing that the states have never delegated to the feds, expressly via the Constitution, the specific power to regulate intrastate environmental issues.

Electing a Republican in a statewide race in West Virginia will be the exception, not the rule.

I think Capito can pull it off and if she does, the Republicans should have a very good showing nationwide on Election Day.
