"...job descriptions written for the perfect candidate that does not exist..."

Those are sometimes a firm trying to "prove" to the Labor Department that no American can fill that opening, so you should let us bring in Qiao Wang to take it. I can't tell you how many job orders like that that I saw while working at the unemployment office in Iowa.

There are lots of jobs. I just turned down an opportunity to work in the US capital building in DC.

Government is a growth industry, no doubt about it.

The part about July’s jobs report being hidden from the public is the disaster decimating the key workforce age demographic— 25 to 54, the peak earning years. That critically important age group saw a 142,000 DECLINE.

Since the start of this Obama Depression, this key age demographic has lost 2.5 million jobs. Why? Because Americans ages 55 and over are desperate and working longer. Their homes are underwater; their net assets are down by about half since 2007; college costs for their kids have skyrocketed; their monthly household bills for everything from electricity, to gas, to groceries, are at all-time highs—even though the government claims there is no inflation; and thanks to the Fed’s policy of artificially low interest rates, they earn just about zero interest on their savings.

The result? America has more over age 55 workers than at any time in history.

Here’s another damning fact about jobs that the public is not being told: since Obama became president, over 11 million working-age Americans have disappeared from the workforce

RE: Add in job descriptions written for the perfect candidate that does not exist and wouldn’t accept the salary offered if he or she did, and positions are going wanting.

Usually, the so called “perfect candidate” is a person the company ALREADY HAS IN MIND, who they want to hire to live and work in the United States.

That person is most often, NOT a permanent resident or a citizen of the USA.

One HINT: Job requirement needs the person to be fluent in X where X is a language like Chinese or Japanese.

Japanese companies in the United States (and in NYC) are known to do this.

It’s not the “perfect candidate”, it’s a candidate they already have in mind. They however have to meet BLS regulations by advertising for the job and informing them that they can’t find anyone in the USA who meets that requirement.

America has more over age 55 workers than at any time in history.

America also has a higher percentage of people over 55. Smaller families and longer lifespans are big factors.

No maternity leave. No childbirth costs. No well baby visits. And on and on.

Yep keep that minimum going up and I’ll go back to work and displace another young worker...who would you choose, an ex-executive who knows how to work, or a kid thinking about working? The kids protest for more money... They are setting themselves to be out of work! I’m 72’ would I work at MacDonald’s part time to get some “fun” money? You bet..$15 starts sounding about right.

Forward comrades. The glorious workers paradise has the formerly useless breathers proving they can be turned in to productive tax paying workers. Beet rations will be increased to any citizen who informs of any useless breather to the local Obamacare recycling program who is not working to glorify the new worker’s paradise.

I called him on a posting and he told me that he just ran them to get resumes. He didn’t really have any openings.

No offense, but maybe he was just trying to blow you off.

“No offense, but maybe he was just trying to blow you off. “

He’s a real Christian, a very good guy. If he had to lie his head would explode. We’ve had an excellent relationship for 14 years. I hired through him when I was a manager. He did call me and get me a 10 month gig. So, I suspect not. I think he was being honest. He has recently put me in for two other jobs. But when we had lunch he said how tight the picture still was, job-wise.

We’re in an industry, defense, which is in particular hard times under Obama.
