Sorry to say, but my ~7 year hiatus from being neither a producer not a taker is to end (MediCare).

Hmm. I wonder how much of that actually went to Americans, and how much went to illegals.

“not including administrative expenses—totaled $2,007,611,200,000 in fiscal year 2013.”

How much were the administrative expenses I wonder.

And how much was the cost to society of having people sit around getting drunk, doing drugs and sponging off the taxpayers.

The Obama Administration is spending $2 trillion per year to destroy the American work ethic.

You know I have a little problem with the “got” in regards to programs that working Americans paid into like Social Security and Medicare, people paid into these programs with the promise of return on their investment, it’s not something for free and not their fault the government hijacked the money.

Somebody paid into EBT, Section 8 and crap because they got paid too. People “paid into” every government program.

Considering that the US Government collects about $2.1 trillion in total taxes and excises, etc...

It means that these benefits consume nearly all of the total tax revenue

That also means that the rest of the functioning government - military, courts, NASA, Agriculture, national parks, etc...etc... are paid for nearly entirely by borrowed money!!

Sosh Security, Medicare and FICA taxes are simply pieces of legislation passed by Congress. Nothing more, nothing less.

In economic terms, the government expenditures multiplier is always one less than the private sector multiplier. Simply stated, this economy would be better served if the gov’t only provided those goods and services dictated by the Constitution, namely the provision of social overhead capital (e.g., transportation and communication infrastructure) and the policing of property rights (e.g., a standing military and a legal system). The reduced expenditures and taxes would see our economy thrive in the absence of all of the taxes and regulations that are currently strangling our economy.
