The Israeli military says a soldier reported missing in Gaza on Friday is dead.
Hadar Goldin was believed to have been captured by militants during fighting, leading to the collapse of a ceasefire shortly after it had been declared.
The Israel Defense Forces said it had determined that Lt Goldin, previously considered captured, had died.
Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu has said the operation in Gaza will continue according to Israel's security need

The Palestinians, it has been well documented, deliberately hide their ordnance in or under schools, hospitals, apartment buildings, etc. That is their choice. Then they should not be surprised that many of their civilians get killed when Israel destroys weapons that threaten Israel. The civilians' deaths merely serve to supply Hamas with photo-ops to show "the big mean Israelis hurt the poor wittle Palestinians". In reality, their use of civilian locations to store ordnance completely exposes their utter lack of concern about their people.
