The Israeli military says a soldier reported missing in Gaza on Friday is dead.

Hadar Goldin was believed to have been captured by militants during fighting, leading to the collapse of a ceasefire shortly after it had been declared.

The Israel Defense Forces said it had determined that Lt Goldin, previously considered captured, had died.

Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu has said the operation in Gaza will continue according to Israel's security need

Give them 48-72 hours to clean out. Then level the place.

Interesting that Hamas is claiming that the Israeli — along with a bunch of their own fighters — may have been casualties of an Israeli air strike.

Could be..he might have been killed along with the two other IDF soldiers whose bodies remained at the scene..maybe Hamas took Goldin’s body away as a means of doing some sort of swap

I thought to myself, better that he is killed quickly in this trial of events, than paraded out and tortured. I’m sure Hamas was planning to stretch this affair out and use him as a bargaining chip. I’m sure Hamas is outraged at their missed opportunity to make Israel retreat. Shalom.

“He was probably killed during the engagement, but the terrorists dragged him off”

My guess as well. When Israel gives a 1,000 to 1 hostage swaps, the Soldier was better off alive for the Muzzies.

The article mentions that DNA was used in determining the Lieutenant’s death. That indicates to me that they was enough blood and/or tissue at the scene of the engagement to indicate that his wounds were mortal. They may have also found partial remains later at another location, perhaps an impact area from and airstrike.

I am saddened by this, and offer my prayers for him and his family. He bravely faced these risks, and deserves the honor he earned.

I’ve also read that he was the cousin of Moshe Ya’alon, Israel’s defence minister.

This has gotten way out of balance. 1123 dead children and women and 3 Israelis wounded. 7500 wounded Palestinians? Where do they go for shelter? A UN hospital? Israel needs to stop real bad. The whole world is appalled. Stop already.
Bad Carma on this one.
