Federal Appeals Court Strikes Down Virginia Same-Sex Marriage Ban

WASHINGTON — The 4th Circuit Court of Appeals held Monday that Virginia’s ban on same-sex couples’ marriages is unconstitutional. On a 2-1 vote, the appeals court joined the wave of court decisions declaring such bans unconstitutional. The decision, by Judge Henry Floyd acknowledged both the debate over such laws and, in the court’s view, the clear constitutional impediment to laws banning same-sex couples from marrying.

“We recognize that same-sex marriage makes some people deeply uncomfortable,” he wrote. “However, inertia and apprehension are not legitimate bases for denying same-sex couples due process and equal protection of the laws.”

The court’s opinion is not effective immediately. According to the court’s judgment in the case, the judgment will take effect after the mandate is issued in the case. The mandate, under the court’s rules, will be issued “7 days after expiration of the time to file a petition for rehearing expires, or 7 days after entry of an order denying a timely petition for panel rehearing, rehearing en banc, or motion for stay of mandate, whichever is later.”

Welcome to the USSA.
Where, like the old USSR, there exists a good Constitution.
But the rulers ignore it.
And the mooing free-sh*t masses (some of whom speak English), are ignorant of it.

Current USSA Law is: “Cuz I says so”.

“If Rush is right, and brevity is the soul of wit, it looks like that was a load of stupid.”

1.) What Rush may have to say, has nothing to do with this discussion. He is comfortable enough in his wealth, and I do not begrudge him that; however, would Rush jeopardize all his comfort to do that which is actually morally “right?” ... I say he fails the test. It is immoral and cowardly to CONTINUE FUNDING a corrupt government that compels its citizens to be complicit in the commission of explicitly defined immoral acts: thievery, envy, and covetousness; the shedding of innocent blood (abortion), infanticide (partial birth abortion), and euthanasia (assisted suicide); the perversion of marriage (”gay marriage,” “same-sex unions,” etc.), the defense, protection and institutionalization of sodomy - and the wanton corruption of children by the same agenda, as it is indoctrinated through government enforced enrollment into public schools; etc., etc.

So, yes, Rush does talk a good “game” - but where is he when the fight requires a “martyrdom” of sorts, so to obtain true victory? He is AWOL - like the rest of the so-called conservatives, who talk the talk, but will never walk the walk, if it means committing themselves to making the ultimate sacrifice for the sake of defending the moral order and upholding just principles.

2.) There is nothing funny about this issue; and thus - no comic relief is written into, nor intended, by my post. “Brevity” in this matter, sir, suits but timid souls - those who cannot face hard reality, and thus need constant entertainment to serve as a distraction from the prodding of their conscience. Such individuals are of weak minds, they are morally bankrupt cowards, without discernment of good and evil, and having not the will to do what is right.

3.) “Stupid is as stupid does!” The definition of insanity is to repeat the same action over and over again, while expecting a different outcome. So ...

A.) Continue in your playing of the same political brinksmanship, despite the fact that - no matter which party holds power - the “game plan” may slow down, stop, or even appear to reverse for a time ... BUT it ALWAYS continues towards the outcome that entails the obliteration of our constitutional republic;

B.) Continue in your belief that - by voting in fixed elections of predetermined outcome and supporting “the lesser of evils” - you will ultimately prevail ... Yes, you may get a “lesser evil” - BUT the evil STILL WINS and thus accumulates over time, corrupting all in its wake, albeit perhaps a at little slower pace from time to time. Even if and when you manage to nominate and successfully elect a person of moral courage and right principle, do any of the previously enacted immoral edicts and regulations ever get repealed? No. Nothing changes ... but you hopeless fools continue to believe that your political “savior,” is just around the next electoral corner. There is “stupid” for you!

C.) Continue to fund a system that actively works for your personal and collective destruction, and keep doing so only because you fear the IRS more than the God of true justice.

So Mr. “Bald Eagle,” who is truly “stupid” here?

Judging from the length of the screed, I’d say whoever wrote that.

The Bible is a work of “length” too - and nothing I wrote contradicts what is written in that “screed.” But then I doubt you possess the intelligence to discern what is written therein, or the courage to practice its wisdom. I trust that this “brief” reply does not overtax your mind.

So you are passing along the equivalent of The Word of God?
