I would appreciate anyone’s thoughts about how I might go about this. It does not have to be Ted Cruz but I think it would make more sense to a congressman who favored his oath to the Constitution.

I believe the idea would be considerably less useful if discussed openly.

Why not? This is an open forum. Good ideas are generally advanced and you might get tips on your ideas here.

I have some pretty powerful contacts within The Tea Party. Run the idea by me. If I think it is worthwhile, I’ll steal it....I mean....I’ll pass it along giving you partial...I mea full credit.

Run it by Syncro.

He knows some of the TPE folks.

No, no. The best way for Moses to get his ideas to the Tea Party is to PAY me to pass them along.

I’m cheap, too. Only $1,000 per idea.

How delightfully silly. We are the Tea Party. If your thoughts are so precious they cannot be shared openly they are almost certainly worthless. The fact, of course, that you are not sharing your ideas makes them worthless in this forum.

Your profile page says you live in VA. If so, Sen Cruz’s response was proper as he does not represent you in the Senate.

If your congressman or one of your state senators are considered “tea party,” contact them. Since you are their constituent, they will likely reply with useful information.

Why the flame? Perhaps these ARE good ideas. So good that if we did discuss, the demon rats would steal them and use them.

If I think it is worthwhile

Thank you. If I can't introduce it the way I think best I will certainly seek and appreciate your opinion.

he does not represent you in the Senate

As you noted I live in Virginia and unfortunately I have no Tea Party Senator to turn to. What I want to discuss has nothing to do with me or does it require the support of my senators.

I question your motives

As you should but my motive is not really the issue except for the congressman I would like to contact.

First of all, Congressmen of Rino or TEA don’t have time to make an evaluation and give you an assessment of your idea. Seek advice privately or here if you want feedback.

If you think your idea advances the Nation, and the Republican Party or Tea Party advancement is secondary, and you are willing to not get any particular credit for it then here is what you do.

Find your most conservative legislator in your state and preferably your district. Find out the name of that legislator’s Chief of Staff. Write a typed letter citing yourself as a voting member of the legislator’s represented area and spell out the legislative proposal in simple but detailed terms as you only get one shot with this guy. Sign it in ink. Mail it First Class.

If the Chief of Staff likes it, he can then lay the typed letter right in front of the representative with his scribbled comment.

E-mails are worthless until you get in the thousands from many people on the same subject. Ideas have to be concrete, well presented and come from a voter. Do not send a contribution in the same letter — the whole thing will get channeled to the committee to re-elect What’sName.

Ideas are a dime a dozen — presentation makes the deal.

You certainly are no Ronald Reagan.

To paraphrase a quote of his “It doesn’t matter who gets the credit”

The problem with ideas is they always lead to more goverment.
I will throw some good ideas out.(my 2 cts)
Is it to abolish the IRS?
A massive tax revolt?
Grassroots pitchforks and ax handles?
Problem is even people who believe in less government are dependant on it.
People here at Freerepublic are too. Veterans, Retirees etc.Medical etc. etc.
We have spent 70 plus year painting ourselves into corner.
I’m not be-littling you. I love simplistic thought...I dream of success in simple solutions. I prah daily for a revival of goodness and a return to od in the land. He AlmighyGod is our only hope. (I do like Ted Cruz but, he is just a man).
