increasingly show that as more Americans learn about the Common Core standards, they don’t like what they see. Hopefully, Americans will feel the same way as they learn more about how the new Advanced Placement (AP) U.S. History exam will decimate the teaching of traditional American history, turning it into a leftist view of an America that is based on identity politics rather than a Constitution meant to protect the rights of individual freedoms.

The new AP U.S. History exam has been authorized under David Coleman, known as the “architect” of the Common Core standards and, now, the president of the College Board, the organization responsible for the SAT college entrance exam and the various Advanced Placement exams.

The Constitution can be studied as an example of the Colonists’ belief in the superiority of their own culture, for instance.

Oh ffs. There is nothing intrinsically "white" or "European" about limited government, economic freedom, private property, and the rule of law. Every single polity that cultivates these ideas thrives, whether in Singapore or Switzerland or Chile. They are 100% culture-neutral, unless you believe ( and modern leftist ideology seems to imply it) that nonwhites are culturally incapable of living without government assistance, respecting private property or obeying laws.

Duh! Did anyone think we'd fight a revolution against England to establish an INFERIOR culture????

I would say the superiority of the Colonists' vision has been borne out by history. We accomplished in a century what some cultures (cough ** islam ** cough) have failed to achieve in millennia. In another century, we surpassed the entire world. That's pretty strong evidence.

Modern leftist ideology posits that non-whites are, and should be, sheep.

I was in college in the 50’s and the Marxists were already beginning to sow their seeds of anti-capitalism in classes. Now with Obama and his Marxists in the White House they are just emboldened since they know that the government will not only not stop them it will support and encourage them.

I was glancing through a book on how to take the AP History test for my son. I mentioned to him how from the guide, it looked like the test was written by a bunch of liberals looking for liberal answers. So I told him to make sure he included blacks and women’s rights and slavery and all of that if the question could be answered that way.

He said he had one question on “an important event in the 21st century”. He answered with the women getting the vote thing. He is really bright, and knows all the facts, and can BS anything. He got an A.

In high school he had to write an essay on a “controversial subject”. He wrote about how the blacks would have been better off if slavery had continued. Surprisingly he got an A on that as well! (He did make a lot of good points, that it would have evolved over time anyway and the blacks would have been better off in the long run.) But I told him that the AP board probably would have none of that!

Common Core Architect David Coleman's Next Deception: The New AP U.S. History Exam

The upshot is that James Madison, Thomas Jefferson, and the other founders are largely left out of the new test, unless they are presented as examples of conflict and identity by class, gender, race, ethnicity, etc. The Constitution can be studied as an example of the Colonists’ belief in the superiority of their own culture, for instance.

The War on History

Although history needs to present more than just facts and dates, it certainly does NOT need revisionism and "judgment" from "smarter and wiser" contemporary academics of the present "PC" revisionist persuasion.

Too much time is spent discussing the arrogance and details of the PC revisionists, an NONE critiquing the banality and uselessness of applying today's "new normal" to the conditions existing at the time of the Nation's creation.

As if, were we to revisit the unique historical exceptionalism that was so successful in creating the best representative and free country in history, we decided to apply today's standards of normalcy and be as successful. Division, setting social subclasses against each other, creating new victims in every area of society, and accepting every manner of perversion as "normal," would produce a new country just as successful as the one that has been emulated for over 200 years.

I, for one, cannot accept the results of that sicko intellect.
If local Boards are allowed to continue to choose the method in which actual history is taught, and ignore the ignorant educational controlling morons, our country, our society and our educational systems would create an infinitely better place.
