Look how rarely the Republican Party defeats Democrat incumbent senators
Vanity

Posted on 07/10/2014 1:41:15 PM PDT by cotton1706

While it's true that it's difficult to defeat incumbents, the Republican Party over the last 30 years has depended on OPEN seats. They have defeated very few incumbent democrats.

But we're supposed to listen to their advice on who should take on Hagan and Landrieu and Warner and Shaheen and Merkely and Franken, etc!

Welcome to the age of campaign finance reform, aka incumbency protection. Dems don’t beat incumbent Reps either. The return rate goes up every time the CFR laws get tightened.

The Republican Party is nothing but an extension of the Democrat (Marxist) Party and exists only to preserve its own elite benefits and reward like thinking friends of the elite. Any semblance to representing the wishes of its constituency is purely accidental and will be reversed as soon as possible.

The democrats beat one in 2012, 5 in 2008 and 5 in 2006. They go for the throat. We nominate the nicey, nicey types.

Actually your numbers prove my point. Those are negligible. CFR protects incumbents of both parties, it’s why both parties support it.

Which is why 2016 is going to be a nightmare for the GOP.

This is why job approval polls for Congress are the biggest joke going. 20% approval, but 90% of them will be re-elected. Term limits, jail, or both.

Nonsense!
There is a huge difference between the parties.

Just because we do not get the GOP to do what we want all the time, does not mean we will be happy with the Democrats who will never do what we want.

The Uniparty is not the Conservatives’ friend. Never has been, never will be.

The GOP never does what we want either.
It just gives Dems half of what they want, over and over.

The devil you know is better than the one you don’t

Republicans who claim to represent our constitutional interests but lie and deceive are worse than the worst democrat who is honestly a socialist. When in the last year has the Republican house leadership done anything we have elected thm to do... Give me one example.

Congress is allowing an out of control executive branch to destroy America with the permission of the American people who elected them. Throw them all out!

Shocking but true, the GOP has never been able to defeat more than TWO Democrat incumbents for Senator per cycle since 1980. Not even in 1994 or 2010.

Just think of how the Senate would look but for the 17th?? Amendment. Until then statehouses elected Senators.
