The precinct level returns in Hinds County bolster the theory that a surge in black, Democratic turnout allowed Senator Thad Cochran to defeat Chris McDaniel, a Tea Party-backed state senator, in last month’s Republican primary runoff in Mississippi.

Mr. Cochran won by 7,667 votes. Nearly half — a net 3,532 votes — came from the most Democratic precincts in Jackson’s Hinds County, where President Obama won a combined 97.8 percent of the vote in 2012, according to figures released Tuesday night by the Mississippi secretary of state.

The surge in turnout was clearest in overwhelmingly black precincts; turnout sometimes increased by more than 3,000 percent over the initial Republican primary.

The truth is slowly coming out and the NY Times is confused. Likely they buried this story in the back pages. Perhaps they are happy to reveal that the GOP is full of dirty tricks, but on the other hand they want Cochran elected in November if their democrat can’t get it.

How many ways can ny times say obama voters overwhelmingly gave Cochran the votes he needed? This writer repeats the same info over and over and over.

I wonder if the RINOs realizes that they will have given up a seat to the Democraps by buying Dem votes for Cochran? I believe a lot of folks in the general election will say Better a known enemy with knife in hand than a fake friend that will stab you in the back!

That would seem to indicate that, there are people pitting Blacks against conservatives and "tea party" supporters. Or is it against Whites?

I think they dream of upsetting us so much that we will stay home and leave Cochran to lose to any democratic challenger.
