I would hope the memories she has from there are happy. Her family left there when she was five years old.
Her American medical doctor father worked in a hospital there when the US government was still propping up the Shah of Iran.
Like I said, Obama (and Jarrett) Muslim connections are to Sunni Saudis. I would certainly like to hear about any connections she) has to powerful Shias from Iran. I’ve just never seen a chain to there like there is to the Saudis.

Barack Hussein Obama is a Sunni Muslim. As are 98% of Kenyans and Indonesians.
But, having transferred to the Nation of Islam in Chicago, I'm not sure that's meaningful anymore.

Thank you. I had long been confused by Obama’s reactions to Muslim conflicts until I realized they would make sense if he was a Sunni. Hence this thread.
Sunni is most of the Middle East excluding Iran and Israel. Sunni believes follows the Caliph who is the descendant of Muhammad. The Sultan of the Ottoman Empire was also the Caliph of the Ottoman empire. The Ottoman empire extended from the border of India to Southern Europe, North Africa, Egypt and Sudan. The Sunnis dominate the region. Shiites are living in many of these areas today. Iran is dominated by Shiites. Shiites believe in the imams who are descendants of Ali and the return of the Mahdi in the end times.
I was thinking that Obama might be Sunni because he seems to support the Caliphate. I wonder if Obama has either changed sides or if he is showing his true Islamic religious affiliation. Obama seems to be supporting Iran which is dominated by the Shi’ite branch of Islam. It is also possible that Valerie Jarrett is really running everything. Valerie was born in Iran. I would think that she would be Shi’ite branch of Islam. This means the Iran Iraq war continues with a very much weakened Iraq.
