The Israeli military has carried out airstrikes on a number of military targets inside Syria in response to a cross-border attack that left an Israeli teenager dead, authorities have said. In a statement early on Monday, the military said nine targets were struck and “direct hits were confirmed.” “Yesterday’s attack was an unprovoked act of aggression against Israel, and a direct continuation to recent attacks that occurred in the area,” said Peter Lerner, a military spokesman, referring to the death of a 15-year-old boy in the Israeli-controlled Golan Heights in a mortar attack launched from neighbouring Syria.

The story obscures who exactly was hit. Was it Assad or was it some Islamists?

Agreed, except it said Israel held Damsascus responsible regardless, so I assume Assad paid the price.

The way those guys shed names over there, I don’t take ISIS to mean much in the way of change. It’s still al Qaeda. It’s like the Democrats changing from Leftists to Progressives.

It’s like musical chairs with names over there. PLO, Hezbollah, Hamas, the Muslim Brotherhood, Al Qaeda, Taliban, ISIS, ISIL...

The only thing we know for sure, is that within six months there will be other factions claiming to be a new entity. I still think they are the same entity.

The only other constant is that Obama will have armed or given the entity financial support just before it blossoms.

Oddest thing. I remember seeing one air strike into Syria as it occurred, and there are usually constant military flyovers in Judah and Samaria. Skies have been quiet for days. It must be taking place well to the north, I suppose.
