What would it accomplish to change leadership now? ....and to whom? A Sunni? Wasn’t Maliki elected?
He wasn't directly elected because Iraq has a parliamentary system. The elections decided the 328 members of the Council of Representatives who in turn elected Maliki.
Thank you for that info., but still, he was “indirectly” elected. I’m not sure getting rid of him at this point in time would stop ISIS from advancing or do much of anything of value.
