If they force him out, Iraq won’t be run by George Washington. The new guy will be bad too. I have problem with members of both parties trying to remake the Mid East willy-nilly. All it does is bring chaos, and make things worse.
Obama is less popular than al-maliki. They just had elections in may. Al-maliki coalition did better than anyone else and picked up 90+ seats. This was only a month ago!!!

Just another one of Obama’s unilateral, undesired attempts to do a “regime change” in the ME to benefit radical Islamists. Maliki wasn’t great, but then none of them were/are.
I think this is Obama’s version of the Benghazi video, but staged in Iraq: rather than admit we have been successfully attacked by Islamists, he is trying to portray this vicious attack as just a kind of political protest against Maliki. It’s not.
ISIS came in from the outside and has swept through Iraq, and they’re not boasting about killing Shiites or even killing Iraqis in general. They’re boasting because they have, in their eyes, destroyed the US presence and US influence in Iraq. There may be some Sunni tribes or hangers on in Iraq who see this as an opportunity to get in a few licks against their Shiite rivals, and are supporting ISIS for that reason, but ISIS has killed many Sunnis, too. Their crime? Supporting the modern state of Iraq, being a member of the civil services, or even just opposing the imposition of sharia.
If Maliki quits, Obama will probably give Iraq to an ISIS representative, or conversely, will give it to Iran.

What would it accomplish to change leadership now? ....and to whom? A Sunni? Wasn’t Maliki elected?
We can see how great it has been in the other countries that Obama demanded the leadership be removed. More chaos.

I do believe he has one surviving son from his 2nd wife to continue the dynasty. I’m sure as he gets older some one will push him as a candidate to bring stability to Iraq. I think there is an also another surviving grandson from Qusay too.
Come to think of it, wouldn’t it be convenient for Russia to use Syria ports if travel would be permitted thru Iraq, Iran,and Azerbaijan?
