St. Louis newspaper ditches George Will after column on sexual assault

(RNN) – The St. Louis Post-Dispatch axed conservative thinker George Will's syndicated column Wednesday.

Editor Tony Messenger apologized to his readers. He stated the change had been considered for months, but "a column published June 5, in which Mr. Will suggested that sexual assault victims on college campuses enjoy a privileged status, made the decision easier.

"The column was offensive and inaccurate; we apologize for publishing it," Messenger said.

The newspaper announced Will's column would be replaced by Michael Gerson, "former speechwriter and top aide to President George W. Bush."

In Will's column, Colleges become the victims of progressivism, he stated, "[Colleges] are learning that when they say campus victimizations are ubiquitous … and that when they make victimhood a coveted status that confers privileges, victims proliferate," Will wrote.

Will didn’t conform to the current group-think and had the audacity to voice his opinion.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch has a right to run whichever columns it wants, but hopefully readers stop buying the rag when they read nonsense like the editor’s rationale for getting rid of Will.

Many leftist knotheads claim a sexual assault rate on college campuses of 25% per year, meaning every woman has a near certainty of being raped while getting a degree. Of course, we know this is nonsense, but it doesn’t stop the mentally handicapped from pushing their femi-Nazi agenda.

Maybe he found it offensive - you never know what might set a poststructuralist Marxist off - but it wasn't inaccurate.

I don’t see what’s wrong or (especially) what’s inaccurate about what Will said?

Did they counter his points with facts?

Or just say they wont publish him anymore because he disagrees with them?

Nonsensical extrapolation has always been the bailiwick of the lame-stream media. Now, those previously excluded women editors, publishers, etc., have joined the same "babblin'brook" chorus they once deprecated.

This morning's Catholic Mass has a reading on HYPOCRISY. Fits right into this article.

Good grief! Is Jack Nicholson still alive? He must be 200 years old!

No, I know. He's only 77.
My I disliked him.

Thank goodness the good citizens of St Louis will no longer be exposed to the truth after all we can’t have an informed citizenry.

One thing that Will is really good about is providing factual examples to back up his opinions.

In the case of this article, he provided examples of women who were ultimately shown (indeed in one case openly admitting to) faking their assault claims.

We have been putting up with P.C. for too long, time to literally overthrow it for good ! It simply replaces what was simple and easy to do things with overly complex and long winded process. One place I worked at, some dumb women took over and made it overly complex to get anything done, even dumb things like having to go to the bathroom - permission required and paperwork required. I had to do things that were done off the radar in order to get things done. A lot of compliance training was required, therefore actual work never got done. Also OT was pushed even though it was unpaid. Many folks were upset. One day, I was ordered to move to the East Coast or the door, took the door since the East Coast was really big into P.C. A few others were were canned as well who refused to move to the East Coast as well.

The CEO paid herself a $700,000 bonus while firing half the people since 2007. No pay raises in 6 years either except herself and other execs.

Here is one person who did not like it.
