GOP fury after report claims IRS 'recycled' Lerner hard drive

The top Republican on one of the House committees investigating the IRS targeting scandal reacted furiously late Wednesday to a report that ex-IRS official Lois Lerner's hard drive had been recycled, making it likely that many emails sent to and from Lerner prior to the summer of 2011 will never be recovered.

The Politico report cited two anonymous sources, as well as Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, who confirmed that the Senate Finance Committee had been told that the hard drive had been discarded.

"If the IRS truly got rid of evidence in a way that violated the Federal Records Act and ensured the FBI never got a crack at recovering files from an official claiming a Fifth Amendment protection against self-incrimination, this is proof their whole line about 'losing' e-mails in the targeting scandal was just one more attempted deception," House Oversight and Government Reform Committee chairman Darrell Issa, R-Calif., said in a statement. "Official records, like the e-mails of a prominent official, don't just disappear without a trace unless that was the intention."

There are backups. There are backups of the backups. And on top of everything else- emails are sent to someone, right? So, where are their copies?

This is the Obama administration saying, "You're not getting the damn emails. Now, what are you gonna do about it?"

The emails reside on the Exchange (email) Server, not the local hard drive. Besides, haven’t other Obama staff been using private Gmail accounts to do the dirty work?

More like Issa is a fool. And the rest of them as well.
They are trying to use the rule of law on a bunch of people who are lawless and have no respect for the law. The baraq gang has insulated themselves from the law such that the repubs have been made powerless. The only remedy the repubs have now is to defund the govt. Shut it down. But they won’t do that because they are afraid of the upcoming election in November.

If there is anything I’ve learned over the last six years, it is that the Democrats can do whatever they want. I’ve never been an alarmist, but I’m pretty sure that if Dems wanted to outlaw the Republican Party they’d get away with it.

America as it was founded is dead.

They won't do it, but here is the answer:

Article One, Section Nine, clause 7 No money shall be drawn from the treasury, but in consequence of appropriations made by law; and a regular statement and account of the receipts and expenditures of all public money shall be published from time to time.

Cut all funding to the administration and the IRS, the EPA and the Dept of Education for two years. End of problem and a total restoration of the economy.

I asked the same question yesterday. There must be hundreds, if not thousands, of businesses with copies of the emails denying them the same relief given to the Dems.
