The White House will honor 10 young adults on Tuesday who came to the United States illegally and qualified for the president’s program to defer deportation actions.
Each person has qualified for the government’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival program, which delays removal proceedings against them as long as they meet certain guidelines.
They will be honored as “Champions of Change,” the White House said in a statement Monday because they “serve as success stories and role models in their academic and professional spheres.”
They emigrated from Mexico, Colombia, Morocco, India, Taiwan and the Philippines, and many of them work in professions related to immigration policy or have helped launch initiatives that promote reform.
In 2012, President Obama created the program through an executive order, which defers any action on the status of people who came to the U.S. illegally as children for two years and can be renewed. It doesn’t provide any legal status.
People who qualify include those who came to the U.S. before turning 16, resided in the U.S. continuously since 2007 and people who are either currently in school, have graduated or received a certificate of completion for high school or were honorably discharged from the military.
Program recipients also cannot have been convicted of a felony, significant misdemeanor or three or more misdemeanors.
The event comes with the prospects for immigration reform dim, following the defeat of House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) in his GOP primary last week.
Obama had recently directed Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson to delay his review of the government’s deportation policy in hopes that Congress could pass a reform bill by the August recess.
After Cantor’s downfall, however, many believe it is unlikely the GOP-controlled House will move on immigration ahead of November’s midterm elections.
Could this Obama “first” be because American Hispanics don’t like a leader who is so lame, they want a leader who obeys the country’s laws. That’s a fact.
How come I have to obey the law?

To the four million Republicans/conservatives who stayed home last presidential election in opposition to Romney, you knew this type of stuff was going to be the norm with our Marxist President. You knew Obama would finish his destruction of our nation. Even though you knew this, you made a thoughtful decision to not vote, even if it meant it would help a known Marxist win a second term.
You have NO right to bitch about anything Obama has done this second term. You had a chance to stop this Marxist, and you chose NOT to! Please don’t delude yourselves into believing that you’re Patriots; you most certainly are not! You helped to hand our nation, and it’s final destruction over to Obama, even though you saw what he did his first term.
The 4 million Republicans/conservatives who stayed home hold responsibility for what we’re now facing. Sadly, we will NOT recover from this. We are beyond what an election can fix. Obama has flooded every facet of our society with his Marxist rot.

The democrats have celebrated whenever their leaders got away with crimes ever since Bill Clinton committed perjury, while Hillary was lying about the “nuts and sluts” who kept telling tall tales about Bill being a serial rapist. Still, I never would have guessed that even they would hold a White House celebration to honor criminals who aren’t even leftist campaign donors or politically correct terrorists. Democrats disgust me.
If the GOP Establishment had put up somebody worth voting for instead of the pro-homo adoption, pro-homo military, pro-big government, liberal one term ex governor of Taxachusetts, Mitt Romneycare, maybe they would have come out to vote.
