President Barack Obama on Tuesday asked congressional leaders to meet with him Wednesday as he considers his options in Iraq.

Administration officials tell us the president will make the case for sending a limited number of special forces troops to Iraq.

The president had insisted he did not want to put boots on the ground in the newly flaring conflict but now believes special forces are necessary to develop better intelligence on the Sunni insurgents should airstrikes be ordered.

Please do not allow our soldiers to go into battle under this administration. They will end up in deadly bloody battles we have not seen the like of in decades. All the decent top brass have been purged from their ranks and the idiot on the hill does not have a clue.

Obama flailing around like a fish out of water is just going to get Americans killed without any valid purpose.

"Yeah, but only about 25 million."

This Iraqi army is no different than Saddam’s was. I’d say the ISIL has a good chance of taking Bagdad after a sharp fight with the Shia militia. The army will be long gone.

>> And he will send just a few so they will get killed.

A measure of accomplishment for the jackass.

Amateur hour / day / week / term at the Whitehouse. Actually think the military has let him know 275 is not going to be enough to do anything but be killed, and hopefully the adults have enabled zero to avoid continuing his mistakes that are killing Americans. God help our soldiers.

This would put our troops in the immediate proximity of Iranians troops who may well have built and/or supplied IED’s used in Iraq against Americans.

Even if the Iranians don’t attack the Americans directly, they can persistently foment dissent among the Iraqi Shia’s against the Americans they would be serving with.

Sounds like a recipe for disaster.

He wants to kill off all our best warriors before the coup.......bears repeating. An honest half wit would send in drones instead.

I still expect an ugly scene reminiscent of the evacuation of Saigon. This administration is clearly incompetent. And dangerous.

Nuke. Turn the place into a flat piece of glass. We will learn to live without the oil. Not going to happen unless Israel does it.

Today’s Washington Post Express reports that 170 Special Forces are already in Iraq and another 100 on standby. It was said their limited mission, not yet approved, would be training and advising. And so it begins.

Too late.

The Kenyan over ruled the Pentagon in 2011 to position him for the 2012 election, and dithered in January when the Iraq/Syria border was collapsing. When events called on presidential leadership, he was golfing, opening our borders, bitching about minimum wage, destroying the coal industry, raising money, and killing jobs.

Give military arms to ISIS in Syria so they can use them to murder their way to Baghdad. Then ask congress for approval to send U.S. troops to help defend Baghdad.

The president will not, we are told, present a prepackaged decision to congressional leaders but will instead seek consensus.

He wants congress to go along with his cockamamy plan to he can blame it on them when it fails.

Obama ignored the advice of military leaders when he drew down the troops in Iraq so precipitously. Now he's reaping the results of that folly.

Soldiers who risked their lives in Iraq only to have the country return to chaos have the right to feel betrayed. How committed are they going to be to any efforts in Iraq directed by Obama? Obama has squandered the trust of our men and women in uniform.
