In an interview with Christian Broadcast Networks David Brody this week, U.S. Sen. Rand Paul evaded the question of whether he would ever support same-sex marriage, indicating that he recognizes the political climate has changed on the heated issue.
I think right now if we say were only going to [have] one man, one woman marriage, were going to lose that battle because the country is going the other way right now, Paul said. If were to say each state can decide, I think a good 25 or 30 states still do believe in traditional marriage, and maybe we allow that debate to go on for another couple of decades.
I think that the Republican Party, in order to get bigger, will have to agree to disagree on social issues, Paul advised. The Republican Party is not going to give up on having quite a few people who do believe in traditional marriage. But the Republican Party also has to find a place for young people and others who dont want to be festooned by those issues.
Gay leaders try to make this a fight for rights and against hate, bigotry etc. They never want to mention the fact that the lifestyle is unhealthy and that a responsible society would not promote it.
