President Obama reflected on his own struggles as he delivered the commencement address to the graduating class at Worcester Technical High School in Worcester, Mass., on Wednesday. Saluting graduates as they left the safety of high school behind, the President talked about the obstacles he had had to overcome as a youngster growing up in Hawaii, adding that his family at times ‘had to scrape to get by.’ He held up the revitalized technical school as a model for the United States in an increasingly competitive global workforce.

Reflecting on his own youth, Obama said the support of his teachers, family and community enabled him to finance a good education through grants and student loans.
‘All of this happened because people saw in me something that I didn't always see in myself,’ Obama said during a commencement ceremony whose festive spirit wasn't dampened by rain that sent family members reaching for their umbrellas.

Obama was raised by grandparents who were well off. He went to one of the most prestigious and expensive prep schools in Hawaii. His grandmother was a vice president of the Bank of Hawaii. He was raised in affluent circumstances.

Iraq is going to crap because Obama made it a point of doing the exact opposite of what George Bush did. He doesn’t see a problem with Iraq going to crap because he wants it happen. He truly believes it reflects on George W. Bush’s failure rather than his own.
Show me anyone else who can get degrees from Columbia and Harvard with little or no record of ever attending class and few, if any, classmates who remember them even vaguely. Let alone paying for it.

I can recall how we had to walk 20 miles through the snow, barefoot, uphill both ways.
It was tough.
Ironically, it was only a 10-mile trek when I was in my 40s.
