No worries. It’s not happening. The weasel was in it for the power. Even if he ran as a write in candidate and even if by some very slim chance he won, it wouldn’t do him a bit of good. His power derives from is status within the gop. He isn’t their candidate anymore. The gop candidate is David Brat. And The weasel will have to give up his majority leader post well before the general election.
So let’s say he wins. He has no standing in the gop. He would be nothing but an independent usurper. Even if he rejoined the gop after the election, he would be just another backbencher.
Naah. He thrives on power. Expect him to be a highly paid K street politute.
It shows that politicians are in it for themselves.
They seem to not ever want to retire because they know that politics is all about money, and they want to be always near that pot of gold.
It’s all about them and very little about America.

The gop faction of the uniparty will try to damn him with faint praise. He will win anyways. He’s an astute candidate in a very conservative district. Still, he will have few friends when he gets to sodom on the Potomac. Absent a complete shakeup in the gop wing of the uniparty I see him having a frustrating time in the house. But he has a bright future when he moves up and out.
So, he’s pretty well screwed like the rest of us conservatives. But he’s getting some good experience that he can use to lead post-collapse. And we need to relish what victories we can in the mean time.
