White House spokesman Josh Earnest said Tuesday that President BarackObama is always looking for opportunities to act unilaterally again on guns, though he would prefer to work with Congress.
The presidents goal is to look for opportunities to act administratively, unilaterally using his executive authority to try to make our communities safer, Earnest said, responding to a question the day that a gunman opened fire at an Oregon high school, killing one student and injuring a teacher. Were always looking for those opportunities. But none of those opportunities when they present themselves is going to be an acceptable substitute for robust legislative action.
Police said the shooter at Reynolds High School in Troutdale, Oregon, was later found dead.
After the December 2012 massacre in Newtown, Connecticut, Obama took 23 executive actions to restrict guns. However, an Obama-backed bill for stronger background checks for gun purchases could not even get enough support to pass the Democratic-controlled Senate.
Theres no doubt there has been an alarming frequency of tragic incidents of gun violence that are concerning to Democrats and Republicans in Washington but more importantly to people all across the country, Earnest said. The question is what can we do to make certain something like this never ever happens again? There are going to be other tragedies. The question I think really facing lawmakers right now is what common sense steps can Democrats and Republicans take to reduce the likelihood of gun violence.
And there are some, and they have unfortunately been bottled up in Congress and that is a disappointment to the president, Earnest continued. But thats not going to stop the president from continuing to push for administrative steps that we can take to help reduce gun violence.
He keeps pushing doesn’t he?
Yes he does, with a purpose.
Is anybody surprised?
He must want civil war. If so, he will get it in spades.
He no longer has to worry about that old Constitution. The Congress and SCOTUS has let it rot away the past 5 1/2 years.
Those worked about as well as the "gun free" zones, huh?
My ancestors tarred and feathered people for fun.
I’m sure politicians would love to help bring this time honored traditional pastime back.
The Tyrant could arm narcoterrorists,
use the IRS and NSA to attack law-abiding Americans,
free 35,000 felons, arm al Qaeda with sarin,
MANPADs and SAMS, ignore warnings from other countries
about ACTUAL TERRORISTS, have an Ambassador raped
and murdered, free the highest ranking Generals of the
Enemy in wartime illegally, AND all the while
LEAVE THE BORDER OPEN while INVITING terrorists in,
and — even then —nothing would happen.
“My ancestors tarred and feathered people for fun.

You should start with the SCOTUS!
Oh, I am sure Republicans will push back. LOL.
Hardworking, humble Josh Earnest, impecunious President Macawber’s new Urian Heep:
“’When I was quite a young boy,’ said Uriah, ‘I got to know what umbleness did, and I took to it. I ate umble pie with an appetite. I stopped at the umble point of my learning, and says I, “Hard hard!” When you offered to teach me Latin, I knew better. “People like to be above you,” says father, “keep yourself down.” I am very umble to the present moment, Master Copperfield, but I’ve got a little power!’”
Obama & Co. are telling him exactly what to say, like Carney. Another amoral mouthpiece—trot him out, pull his string: Jarrett speaks.
bump dat !
He will bring a mob of unhappy people to the white house. He does not stop and he doesn’t listen to tax payers either. This President seems to be acting as a lo IQ king that needs to prove himself.
I'm pretty sure that my Right to self-defense is one of those "unalienable Rights"
I'm pretty sure that the lying, petty tyrant in the White House is NOT my Creator, so he can't revoke my unalienable Right to Keep and Bear Arms. I'm not even sure why he's opening his lying fecal-stained mouth about my unalienable Right to Keep and Bear Arms, unless he's planning on some tyrannical new "laws" to strong-arm them out of me with his gunthugs.
