They should have killed him. He will continue to present a danger. Having killed three officers it would be easy for him to dehumanize more people and rationalize their murder. He’s had a clean break with reality and is playing the part of a Rambo.

There aren’t many instances of anybody, once in the RCMP’s custody, getting away. Once he is convicted of this terrible crime, he’ll likely be labeled a dangerous offender and won’t be heard from again.

Given Canada’s light on Justice legal system he’ll be out of jail or the mental ward in a decade.

Canada’s justice system has been far more responsive to citizen concerns. It’s unfortunate he won’t be facing death, but unless it can be proven that he was insane, he won’t be getting out.

I am so glad he is in custody. I’d be willing to bet he has some type of “manifesto”/history somewhere. Some people don’t realize how many psychos are out there today. It’s only getting worse.

Rest in Peace, RCMP brothers.

No manifesto that I have seen, his facebook page was typical anti-police and pro-gun. Littered with some US pro-gun posts and cryptic lyrics from mostly hard rock groups.

I noticed that his friend were crawled by the media (some reporting 40-60 friend requests overnight). Let the spin begin.

“There aren’t many instances of anybody, once in the RCMP’s custody, getting away...”

A few got away in Challenge Of The Yukon, but Sergeant William Preston of the Northwest Mounted Police and his lead sled dog, Yukon King caught ‘em again!

Probably possessed. A real wacko. I don’t agree with lots the police here do, but I don’t go out and shoot them.

Sad thing is, the Justice system here really sucks.

I’ll still be keeping an eye on this.

"Nothing else follows."

Will we find that the suspect committed suicide while in custody by stealing the weapons of four officers, and shooting himself 23 times with the stolen weapons?

Given Canada’s light on Justice legal system he’ll be out of jail or the mental ward in a decade.

A Montana judge sentences a rapist to 30 days and a Texas judge lets off a teen who gets drunk and kill half a dozen people with rehab and you accuse us of being light on justice?

Come visit and screw up, then you can see how light on justice we are.

Or, he made a rational decision that unless police officers start wondering whether they were going to make it home after their shift, police power will continue to look more and more like that of a fascist or communist state.
