I think another thing he didn’t count on was the tallies actually hiring a professions photojournalist to record the turn-over of bergdahl - and then to air the video - that proved the creep is hardly at death’s door.
They didn’t figure we’d ever see a photo of him until a few weeks had gone by , after they’d brought him back from “death’s door.” Notice, there has not been ONE photo of him since had his chopper ride - why not??? Had he really been so ill, they would’ve paraded him front and center. The Tallies film blew that false story out of the water.
There was a thread about a Time article earlier. It got pulled from FR right away, but it was basically Time’s terrorist buddies celebrating how they were recognized by the US government (given legitimacy) through the swap, and saying they’ll be sure to capture such important targets from now on so they can get whatever they want.
Another article had given some back-story to the swap, and pointed out that the group that Bergdahl went to wasn’t able to get money from the Haqqani group in trade for Bergdahl because Bergdahl was a nobody. The military had several times when they could have gotten Bergdahl back but didn’t because as a deserter he wasn’t worth the trouble. It was only when Bergdahl was shown on video and made a political issue that the Haqqani paid to get custody of Bergdahl - because they knew they could use him for political capital.
IOW, what the terrorists learned from all this is that you immediately make a video of a captive so that it becomes a political game, and then you have leverage.
This DEFINITELY put our soldiers at risk - as well as anybody else that the terrorists might care to capture and exploit, knowing that captives will be used for political purposes in the US.
Sick.
it boils down to the fact that it is all a giant show to keep us entertained and distracted while both parties, which form our centralized government, eat our freedom and then us.
That is the only actual thing our government is doing...consuming us.
Sadly, I have to agree with you.
