Has any soldier who knew and worked with him come out and vouched for him?
One?

It appears that the military - active, retired and all branches - is really really really angered by this in your face action by BO.

No. Not one. Very telling, equally telling is the fact that they were *forced* to sign NDA's to keep the truth on the down-low. That they are *now* saying screw the NDA, *this* is what really went down is what is making this real.
For all their power, the 'powers' that be can't stuff *this* genie back into the bottle...

The Left is threatened by, or even acknowledges, the truth only insofar as it threatens their narrative, and this threatens that narrative very badly. I just had a rather liberal friend bleat "innocent until proven guilty" at me because that's all she really has left. An even more liberal counterpart just asked me a couple of minutes ago if the thing could possibly have been more poorly handled and I had to tell him no, that there simply isn't any positive aspect to the thing even from a hard-core administration supporter's point of view. The "we leave no one behind" trope isn't gaining much traction because we demonstrably did in Benghazi. All that has to happen now, and I'm praying it doesn't, is for one of the five Taliban commanders to commit an atrocity.
Clearly when they were released the message had to have been transmitted, "Keep these guys quiet or the negotiations will be damaged," but just as clearly the Taliban figure they're winning so why bother? Their objective isn't to get U.S. troops out of Afghanistan as quietly as possible, it's to do so with as big a splash as possible because that advances jihad. And apparently no one told anyone on the 0bama team that this painfully obvious fact couldn't be spun.

Bergdahl was embedded with the unit as an undercover CIA agentThat doesn't explain his dad and his conversion.
