The establishment Republican Party has once again successfully targeted a conservative. Lonegan was outspent ten to one.

MacArthur will lose in the general. Chalk up another establishment failure.

“MacArthur will lose in the general. Chalk up another establishment failure.”

The GOPe doesn't care. As long as a conservative is taken out of the game, they (in their mind) win.

IMHO the Congress is lost to us. It's at the state level where we win this fight. I think that if we win enough state houses/Governorships to push through an Article V Convention and control the proceedings, we can push back/reverse the slide this country is in.

Yeah, the guy with a 0 wins, 5 losses track record was obviously sooooooo much more "electable" in the general than the "establishment" candidate who wins elections and lives in the district.

Fortunately most conservatives disagree with you:

In addition to being an 0-5 loser since ending his term as a mediocre Mayor of a sh-thole borough, Lonegan suffers from Michael Savage syndrome, aka a nails on chalkboard voice that mouths whatever the Koolaid drinkers want to hear.

No Viennacon, LONEGAN was the one that was gonna lose the general.

He is NOT a conservative hero he is an EGOMANIAC who keeps running for office despite never winning. He carpetbagged into that district merely because it happened to be open. He and candidates like him (Jim Oberweis) are disgusting and voters don’t like them.

MacArthur is not a RINO and Steve a “tea party” hero just because he (Steve) says so!!!! Why do some people insist on believing every BS artist if they say the right codewords?

Code words Impy? Yeah, that’s exactly what I’m looking for. And as for running all the time? You mean like Reagan? Or Lincoln? You’re a moron Impy. Moron being the “code word” for moron.

It's interesting, Lonegan and his fan club love to claim the "liberal Republican establishment" (which seems to translate to "any Republican who runs for an office that Steve Lonegan wants") is after him.

Yes, you see, it's ENTIRELY the fault of the "liberal Republican establishment" that Lonegan lost six separate attempts for higher office. They sabotaged his chances. It certainly has nothing to do with Lonegan being an unlikable abrasive candidate who was carpetbagging in an area of the state he's not even from.

Yet I found out tonight that Lonegan was heavily promoting an entrenched Washington incumbent who really IS part of the liberal Republican establishment. It's Congressman Leonard Lance of the "cap n' trade 8" fame -- the eight traitors who voted with Obama on cap n' trade. Lance is a career politician who has long been a thorn in the side of conservatives and is one of the most liberal Republicans in the House who brags about how often he votes with Pelosi & Obama. Lance had a much more conservative primary opponent ( David Larsen ) but of course, the self-proclaimed Tea Party savior Steve Lonegan was for Lance because the two have a long history of helping out each others campaigns. Lance donated to Lonegan's campaigns, and Lonegan vouched for Lance before conservative groups and claimed Lance is a strong foe of Obamacare who deserves conservative support.

So apparently its OK to be part of the liberal Republican establishment -- as long as you endorse Steve Lonegan in primary.

Right. Both the Gipper and Honest Abe lost six times in a row while running for higher office, just like Lonegan.

My tagline refers to media choosing to associate Republicans with the color red to spare the democrats any association with the international color of socialist parties. I don’t know why you would have a problem with it.

Lonegan is a not a good guy, that is evident to anyone who looks passed the surface of his rhetoric. Comparing him to Reagan and Lincoln is asine, they lost 1 race each, after they had already held important office. He’s was small town mayor who keeps running for Governor and Senator and now Congressman despite being consistently rejected, why? Because he desperately wants the important politician he sees when he looks in the mirror to exist someplace other than in his mind.

I believe if the republicans take the senate the media will have two years to slam them then Hillary will win and have a democrat congress. This is why I don’t think the democrats want to win but the republicans aren’t smart enough to figure it out.

No, I don’t support disliked egomaniacs who so desperately want to get elected that they parachute into whatever race is available, even when they have no ties to the district, even the voters make clear time and again that they don’t like them (and yes Steve is not liked, that he’s a jerk is the majority opinion of him). Name someone who’s gotten elected to a major office after multiple failed bids.

Steve is obviously dying to be a part of that establishment he says he hates.

I find it remarkable that a kid from Chicago would know so much about a candidate in New Jersey. You have to be the only Lonegan expert in Illinois. Congratulations.
