People from Spain, are they Hispanic, or Caucasian? Last time I checked Spain is still physically connected to Europe. And what of the Portuguese? I grew up with Black people who are related to the Ramapo Indians, aka Jackson Whites, they’re a mixture of Caucasian, Black as well as Lenape, Mohican, and some Tuscarora, technically these folks are TRI-racial. This is why the gov’t wasting resources and tax $$$ on classifying us by race and ethnicities is inherently racist.
I’ve yet to meet a 50-50 anybody not side with their “minority” side. I can think of about half a dozen celebrities who were rejected and abandoned by their “parent of color”, and raised by their pale parent—only to say they consider themselves “colored”.
I’m not shocked at all by that. Mixing does create confusion for individuals that eventually will self-identify.
Spaniards are not “Hispanic”, neither are Portuguese and Brazilians, nor Francophones from Haiti, French Guiana and other islands throughout the Caribbean.
Though, ever since progressives have gotten “Hispanic” to mean ‘aggrieved racial minority’ (when they are not), they aren’t too keen to exclude.
To answer your first question. Caucasian is their race, Hispanic is their ethnicity. Just like German is an ethnicity. I’m of Spanish decent fwiw....
Portuguese are Caucasian also—just that they have another “ethnicity”. Lusitanian ethnicity, but they are a whole lot more complicated than Spaniards.
Hell....Moroccan’s are Caucasian as all North African Berbers & Arabs are.

Yes, you’re right. Hallie Berry is 50-50 but thinks of herself as black.
And come to think of it, a person I know rather well is 25% AmerInd and totally identifies with being an Indian, carting around all the resentment and anger towards the White Man that entails. I had to fire him as a friend. Of course, 1/4 Indian blood entitles him to certain benefits…just saying.

So what does that have to do with skin color?
But the fact that you do not get a perfect mix of the racial profile of the state applying at your business doesn’t matter, you still are responsible to go out and find those elusive little minority workers to make sure you are in compliance with EEOC rules.
The mere fact that qualified minority workers for the jobs available are not to be found in the area does not matter you will be found guilty of discrimination if you are investigated. Even if you have an abundance of one minority a dearth in another minority will be proof of guilt.
Face it; it is impossible to comply in most cases.

Didn’t read Google’s filing but are Indians included as part of Asians? Have to believe there plenty of Indian engineers at Google and are you going to tell me they’re honorary whites as well? Sounds like the left is simply arguing Educated = Majority vs. Uneducated = Minority.

Maybe some are yellowish, but not all.
Heck, some of them are WHITE than caucasians....
Hispanics can go either way with liberals. That is depending on what they are trying to promote at the time. George Zimmerman is a White person when they are promoting gun control as one example.

Lefties used to charge `racism’ for calling Asian (meaning east Asian) students “grade grinds” because all they did was study & excel.
If a black student does the same, he/she is ACCUSED of “acting white” by da hood.
In terms of general societal behavior, east Asians and east Indians can be considered white. I dated a Korean gal for a while & neither we nor anyone else regarded that as race mixing.
Hispanics are considered white if it furthers the agenda.
In more general terms, are they a "grievance" minority or not. The latter all get lumped into "white".
The left is obsessed with dividing people into groups by race or anything else they can think of.
