Behind Texas Gov. Rick Perrys visit to Iowa this week to campaign for local politicians is a careful effort to remake his image from the 2012 Republican presidential candidate who couldnt remember a key message during a debate, to a more polished and prepared contender.
While he denies it is a dress rehearsal for a second presidential run, Perry is studying policy, traveling and meeting with key activists as he campaigns for Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad and U.S. Senate candidate Matt Whitaker in the state expected to host the first presidential caucus of 2016.

No Rick, sorry to sound heartless, but it’s not going to happen
It’s too early to say. He may have had a brain implant since the 2012 race.
I thought he was the best candidate. The MSM knocked him out early.
Look for another quick exit.
He had had back surgery when he made that gaff in the debates and looks so dumb. He was taking major pain killers.
That said I think he is one of those politicians that makes a good governor but might not make a good president.
Disclaimer: I was a Gingrich supporter so I may be biased
Fly away, Captain Gardasil.
Gardasil, bi-national health care with Mexico and Trans-Texas Corridor.
Yeah, no. Begone, Rick.
How is he going to explain away his position on amnesty and his engagement in corporate welfare, among his other blunders?
I agree. But it might be a good idea to ask just who would be the conservative ticket to run, who could wake up low-information, flatlining middle-of-the-roaders, and at the same time defeat the fifth-column mediascum (including you, Brian W. and Scott P.) who already are wearing Hillary2016 kneepads.
He speaks the truth.
Expediency.
Air gun.
Go Rick.
Run!
Rick should mull something else and spend his time on something that is productive and has some chance of happening.
The MSM knocked him out early.
They certainly didn’t have a hard job doing that. He pretty much did that himself. I don’t think he should run for President. He loves the illegals too much. Perhaps if he goes and does something else for a few decades, he might be acceptable later.
“Gardasil, bi-national health care with Mexico and Trans-Texas Corridor.
Yeah, no. Begone, Rick.”
Silly me. I was thinking about jobs, the economy, taking care of our veterans and a pro-life stance.
Ha, as if. Sorry, Perry, we Texans want to wash our hands of you just like we did with your Lt. Gov. last night. A higher office is not your solution.
The 13 year old Texas DREAM Act.
You are indeed silly. Hopefully you're not also wasting time thinking about TX booming economy, job growth, and low unemployment numbers under Governor Perry. The fact that businesses are flocking to TX is just as irrelevant.
Silly folks who don't recognize the deal-breaker of Gardasil, sigh.
