Scabies-Infected Illegal Immigrants Pass Infestation to US Law Enforcement
Breitbart Texas ^ | 5-27-14 | Kristin Tate

Several U.S. Border Patrol agents in the Rio Grande Valley (RGV) sector have reportedly contracted scabies from contact with detained illegal immigrants.

According to a report by Action 4 News, about 10-15 percent of apprehended illegal immigrants have scabies in the RVG area. "A lot of people [are] coming in with the disease, and it seems to be spreading, not just within the McAllen station, but throughout the Valley and to some of our agents," Chris Cabrera, a spokesman for the National Border Patrol Council, told the local media outlet.

Zack Taylor, Chairman of the National Association of Former Border Patrol Officers, told Breitbart Texas that illegal immigrants are often not screened for diseases during processing.

He said, "Even Border Patrol does not screen people for such diseases due to the sheer numbers of people who need to be processed. Immigrants aren't even screened if they're going into a public jail or an immigration detention facility."

Sharp increases in illegal immigration into the U.S. this year has caused processing facilities to become overcrowded--authorities simply do not have time to screen every apprehended illegal immigrant for diseases.

Lets be fair now. Immigration isn’t solely an Obama screw up. The ‘republicans’ own just as much of the fail as Barry. Our last president, Bush, was happy to look the other way as did most congressional republicans. Oh, to be sure they dabbled around the edges but when they had the opportunity did little to truly curb/stop any incursion of our N/S borders. They did enough to pacify the voters...most anyway.

Cover the infected area with Vaseline and cover it with clear tape for two weeks. You can see the buggers seeping out of the skin and onto the tape.

You bring in your drugs, you bring in your crime, and your diseases to infect me."

This insanity isn't going to end until we conservative patriots get off our lazy a**es and do something about it.

so gross! i have not even heard the word, "scabies" since i was a child growing up in the 70s... there was one family on our block whose kids were always dirty... barefoot, boys didn't wear shirts... nine kids... nice people, but dirty... and everyone would say not to get too close to them or you will get scabies... haha!

most of them actually grew up to be productive members of society... and still super nice people...

Cause[edit]
Main article: Sarcoptes scabiei

In the 18th century, Italian biologist Diacinto Cestoni (1637–1718) described the mite now called Sarcoptes scabiei, variety hominis, as the cause of scabies. Sarcoptes is a genus of skin parasites and part of the larger family of mites collectively known as scab mites. These organisms have eight legs as adults, and are placed in the same phylogenetic class (Arachnida) as spiders and ticks.

Sarcoptes scabiei mites are microscopic, but sometimes are visible as pinpoints of white. Pregnant females tunnel into the dead, outermost layer (stratum corneum) of a host’s skin and deposit eggs in the shallow burrows. The eggs hatch into larvae in three to ten days. These young mites move about on the skin and molt into a “nymphal” stage, before maturing as adults, which live three to four weeks in the host’s skin. Males roam on top of the skin, occasionally burrowing into the skin. In general, few mites usually occur on a healthy hygienic person infested with noncrusted scabies; about 11 females in burrows can be found on such a person.[12]

The movement of mites within and on the skin produces an intense itch, which has the characteristics of a delayed cell-mediated inflammatory response to allergens. IgE antibodies are present in the serum and the site of infection, which react to multiple protein allergens in the body of the mite. Some of these cross-react to allergens from house-dust mites. Immediate antibody-mediated allergic reactions (wheals) have been elicited in infected persons, but not in healthy persons; immediate hypersensitivity of this type is thought to explain the observed far more rapid allergic skin response to reinfection seen in persons having been previously infected (especially having been infected within the previous year or two).[13] Because the host develops the symptoms as a reaction to the mites’ presence over time, usually a four– to six-week incubation period after the onset of infestation is found. As noted, those previously infected with scabies and cured may exhibit the symptoms of a new infection in a much shorter period, as little as one to four days.[14]

Source: Wikipedia

Scabies is contagious and can be spread by scratching an infected area, thereby picking up the mites under the fingernails, or through physical contact with a scabies-infected person for a prolonged period of time.[15] Scabies is usually transmitted by direct skin-to-skin contact. It can also be spread through contact with other objects, such as clothing, bedding, furniture, or surfaces with which a person infected with scabies might have come in contact.[16] Scabies mites can survive without a human host for 24 to 36 hours.[17] As with lice, scabies can be transmitted through sexual intercourse even if a latex condom is used, because it is transmitted from skin-to-skin at sites other than sex organs.[18]

They are not immigrants. They are infection invasive disease vectors.

I guess you could say the infected agents have a venereal disease. After all, they contracted the disease because of an ‘act of love’.

Texas needs to run them through their sheep and cow dip facilities like they did for the Texas fever Tick.

Si se puede be a major health crisis. Just remember who the socialists and crony corpratists want picking your fruits and vegetables, working in kitchens, and delivering your food.

Remind me again why sealing our borders, controlling immigration, and having a managed guest worker and agricultural labor program where applicants are screened, taught basic sanitation, and paid minimum wage is so crazy. Because that’s true immigration reform to me.

Absolutely. September 12, 2001, Bush should have gone to Congress and read the "day of infamy speech"-Islam version....and gotten a declaration of war.

Next, he should have locked down our ports and borders UNTIL an Israeli style fence was built. The whole DHS/TSA was unnecessary. If we could have killed, say, 600,000 Islamisist, we wouldn't need those agencies because we killed or broke every male who could hold a rifle.

WHen you fight your enemy like WWII, you win like WWII.....when you fight a war the "war" on terror, you still leave the enemy alive on the battlefield, and that is an outrage!

Seems we all had a family or two like that on our block in the 70’s. Like you, the ones in my neighborhood grew up to be good people.
