They Had A Dream
Weekly Standard ^ | 5/25/2014 | Noemie Emery

They had a dream. For almost a hundred years now, the famed academic-artistic-and-punditry industrial complex has dreamed of a government run by their kind of people (i.e., nature’s noblemen), whose intelligence, wit, and refined sensibilities would bring us a heaven on earth. Their keen intellects would cut through the clutter as mere mortals’ couldn’t. They would lift up the wretched, oppressed by cruel forces. Above all, they would counter the greed of the merchants, the limited views of the business community, and the ignorance of the conformist and dim middle class.

A knockout punch to those arrogant snobs who think they're so smart but can't do a damn thing except talk.

Last paragraph:

“It is actually harder to do some of these things in reality than we thought when we put it down on paper,” a book review in the Washington Post quoted a former Obama health care adviser as saying. This can stand as the last word for the great aspiration, and the people who held it. They wanted their chance, and they got it. They had it. They blew it. They’re done.

The ruling class is running country completely unopposed.

Why should they be sad?

Like the dog that chases the car. What does it want. After it pees on the car, it doesn’t care any more.

I believe them to be badly frightened. They have enough foresight to know what is coming. It is the administration that receives and hides the hate mail. There is nothing wrong with a proper hate. Why do you think this administration is loading up with arms and ammunition? They know they are bungled, inept incompetents. The initial warning came with the Nevada incident. There will be other incidents like Nevada. Eventually one such incident shall release Hell. It only takes a few, the French Revolution was effectuated by about 250,000 out of 35,000,000. The Bolshevik Revolution about 200,000 out of 100,000,000. The American Revolution about 150,000 out of 4,000,000. Basically about 5% of the population will fight that would be about 6,000,000 Anglo Americans.

They should be sad because we aren’t sufficiently grateful that they screwed up our lives.

I’d like to drop Ezekiel Emmanuel in the middle of Alaska and see if he can figure out - with his own life on the line - how to survive when not surrounded by simpering idiots. Heck, I’d even throw Obama in with him for company. These people are parasites who live off the work of the real people they malign who are the same types of people who built the country the arrogant idiots want to transform.

Yes, their gun, ammo and armored vehicle purchases show that they are planning war against the US citizens.

Haven’t they just shut down the last Lead smelter in the country? Bullets will become hard to come by for the average American. Looks like a plan...

Superb post.

Should the pubbies take the senate and retain the house, my litmus test for 2016 will be what they do about Obamacare.

They must immediately send Hisself a clean repeal. Let him veto it.

If they cannot muster a two thirds override, then defund it.

If they cannot muster the so-called courage to disembowel the most destructive statute in modern history, they will prove they are mere tools of the DC Uniparty and unworthy of any support in 2016.

We are probably about to find out who is a rat in GOP clothing and who actually wants what is good for the people.

We should have had tort reform and insurance across state lines. I don’t oppose some sort of voucher or something for the disabled, and dreadfully legit poor CITIZENS. They sure didn’t have to take over our whole system to help whoever really deserves some help.

As someone said, the best way to get rid of Obamacare is to make those who wrote and supported it make them eat it themselves. No more exemptions for government employees from government mandates. They’re such unashamed hypocrites.

And they will lose. Think Iraq was bad with an uncooperative armed populace that knows the country inside and out? Wait till they declare war on Americans. You ain't seen nothin' yet, especially when the aggressors can't leave.

They planned to move millions upon millions of people from one set of doctors and networks to new ones heedless of the fact that people form relations of trust with their doctors and would resist losing them. They imposed health-insurance mandates on companies that employed 50 or more people with little consideration that this might apply a strong brake to the expansion of businesses and move millions of people into part-time employment. They levied taxes on companies that manufactured the medical devices that improved and saved lives, with no idea this would lead to fewer inventions. They heaped new levels of regulation and paperwork onto the shoulders of doctors and hospitals, with no idea that this would lead many to think about early retirement.

Liberal elites need to stay with what they know best: how to find the best wines, how to get special service at 'the club', how to dress so other liberal elites will know they're cool, and what kind of trips to take... Sherpas anyone? Liberal elites need to stay out of everything and anything that comes even close to real...

I agree. They should only be comedy relief for those of us who know what’s real - what it actually takes to make something happen. They’re just parasites who have convinced their little egos that they’re better when I imagine that most of them might dimly recognize the lie in this at some point.

They had too much belief in the brilliance of experts, they were completely dismissive of public opinion, and they had a contempt for the great middle class.

They have been all of this, to be sure. But they have not yet suffered an irreversible political setback as a result. They have lot the House, but have entrenched their hold on the Executive branch and may yet retain control of the Senate. The Judiciary hangs in the balance.

They will engage in a desperate fight to retain power through a scheme of more free stuff to lure voters, political intimidation of their enemies through a corrupt federal bureaucracy, and election fraud on a massive scale. They have a good chance of pulling it off.

The judiciary is decidedly leftist, these guys are activists too. If the good judges remain silent, the activists are in charge
