Native Americans

McCain said native americans. Wouldn't this term be just as offensive as Americans is a white man's word any way?

from wikipedia Main article: List of U.S. state name etymologies

guess we're gonna rename most of the states

Those unique state names give rise to thoughts about sovereignty and other such outdated concepts; I wouldn't at all be surprised to see an initiative put forward to rename them into numbered districts (1 though 57, I suppose).

Our moronic electorate might actually go for it. "Hey, it's just like in The Hunger Games. Cool!"

“That would have elevated the stature of the Democrats’ initiative by making it both bipartisan and endorsed by the GOP’s 2008 presidential nominee.”

Whenever McCain’s sucking face with the demonrats it’s NOT bipartisan it’s bi-polar.

He could have picked Jesus Alou, and the ticket would have had two men not born in the US.

I was thinking more of the foul stench of socialism that wafted east from The Windy City to the swamp land on the Potomac.

The Aztecs weren’t Aztecs anyway—I believe they were called the Mexica (pronounced me-SHEE-ka).

Most Native Americans are NOT opposed to the name of the team.

How is that even relevant?

This is all about white liberals feeling good about themselves, and forcing their will on everyone else.

Vince spent a lot of time out in the sun:

Ergo, Redskins.

Move on, people.

“They didn’t ask,” McCain said, confirming he still opposed the “Redskins” moniker for the team. “It’s offensive to our Native Americans.”

McCain is a moron, a senile idiot who can't see the 100% clueless no-information idiots for what they are.
Most would consider the Bill of Rights, The Federalist Papers, and the Declaration of Independence as inadequate thoughtless documents--- without having read any of them.

If he wants to join that group, more power to him.

Me?
I will call them the Redskins forever.
Just as I call every "Cesar Chavez" street within 100 miles by their original names.
Ten years ago, I was warning that "political correctness would the downfall of the Republic.
Everybody loses.

I wonder where the name Indiana came from. Maybe I could find out in their state capitol, Indianapolis.

RE: I will call them the Redskins forever.

Is it still OK to call Muhammad Ali, Cassius Clay? Or Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Lew Alcindor? :)

"McCain should be put to pasture this time around. He is an Ass Hole"

That's what McCain's name means in Apache.

RE: I wonder where the name Indiana came from

From Wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indiana

The state’s name means “Land of the Indians,” or simply “Indian Land.”

And let’s dismiss any politician that falsely claims American Indian heritage as offensive and unqualified for public office.

Sure.
Why not?
The ones that get it don't need a reason.
The ones that don't are irrelevant to me.

A contrarian misanthrope?
Yeah; and proud.

Yes, but he won’t do a dang thing about border security, the national debt, etc. He is a traitor. Using Congress as a retirement home.
