The Answer to Rush Limbaugh's Question
American Thinker ^ | 5/20/14 | Lloyd Marcus

Traveling down I-95, headed home to Florida from visiting Mary and my parents in Maryland and West Virginia, I found myself yelling in frustration at my radio. Rush Limbaugh asked: Who gives the left power to silence opposition, control speech, and get people fired or ordered into sensitivity training? Rush rattled off numerous examples to prove his point, including a mere 50 leftist student protesters at Rutgers successfully forcing Condoleezza Rice to back down from giving their commencement speech.

Who gives the left such power? I yelled, “We do!”

By the way, while in West Virginia, I attended Mary's dad's 82nd birthday party. Many family members were in attendance. We had a wonderful time of laughter and love. I was the only black person. There was not the slightest vibe of racial tension in the air. I believe that such is the state of race relations among a majority of Americans, except for those who despicably promote racial division for personal and political gain (that is, Democrats).

Back to Rush's question. Who gives the left so much power? Much of the left's power comes from the mainstream media, which is mostly liberal and totally in sync with the Democratic Party's socialist/progressive agenda. The MSM functions as the left's hit men, ready to high-tech lynch any and all challengers.

They left out public education, which, along with the media, is strongly Progressive/Marxist.
The left knows that Education and Media are the keys to taking the country.

It’s because we fail to stand up for God and His truth that we have the left in power.

Bingo!

Who gives the left so much power?

It all started in the 1920’s when journalists and professors visited the fledgling Soviet Union and fawned over the “great experiment”. Communists (who have cleverly changed their names) have taken over the Universities ever since. The 60’s radicals were trained by them and later took positions teaching our children or rising in the corporate world. All of the media in the US is controlled by a small number of people who hang out with the other uber-rich and powerful.

“Corporate fat-cats” are no longer greedy Republicans they are an evolved Communist animal. Lenin bemoaned the Russian people as a poor place for the Communist experiment. Communism must have a base of highly skilled, hard workers if it ever had any hopes of success.
Yes, I have heard from the mouths of leftists; “The Soviet Union failed because they just had the wrong people running it”.

The Leftists have so much power because (I begrudgingly admit) they have earned it! They have risen to positions of power in media and Universities. They have practically become unassailable!

If there were a second American Revolution to restore the Constitution who would we fight and how would it be fought?
It’s a fine idea to “educate the public” but “the public” practically has no voice and no power!

Exactly...Who are you going to fight? It is one thing to fight a foreign invader, but civil wars are not nice, and the good and true Americans are now outnumbered.

Even worse, half of the public today IS the enemy.

It is exactly on the individual level. However, the Resistance in France started as individuals, did it not? People will come together for the common good to fight evil.

Yes, it did start with individuals. You are right. It was a desperate time. How do you get them to work together when they don’t yet see it is desperate?

Tacit and Implicit are next door neighbors. I think your Appeal to Self Authority holds true if we are describing the thinking of those in power. It is a modified appeal to authority fallacy. It is one of the roots of tyranny that is fed by pride.

The People, that is, a majority of the People, have given power to the left because they are in tacit agreement with the left. Even though they will deny it when asked.

The People will say they are conservative, but act otherwise.
They say they are pro family, but act otherwise.
They say they are Christians, but act otherwise.

15 “Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. 16 By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17 Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.

The People are corrupt and stiff necked. They deny it, but the fruit is not good.

“such and such policy helps people - you want to help people, don’t you?”

That’s about the extent of how the left maintains support.
