The [now Father] Paul Schenck case that went to SCOTUS:

PAUL SCHENCK and DWIGHT SAUNDERS, PETITIONERS v. PRO CHOICE NETWORK OF WESTERN NEW YORK et al.

Docket No. 95-1065

Why this and McCullen v. Coakley has a bearing on this story is how did the 15 year old find out how to contact the pro-lifer (or did the mother contact the pro-lifer).

It is my belief that McCullen v. Coakley and Schenck v. Pro-Choice Network of Western New York, and the fact that they force buffer zones is relevant to this case.

What might have happened if the pro-lifers were banned from the area, and the 15 year old or the mother was unable to contact the pro-lifer to help resolve this?

Consider the following from the article:

“Cheryl, the local (and amazing) pro-lifer drove to the clinic and the young girl was released in her custody for the weekend,” Johnson wrote

Basically, Abby Johnson (former Planned Parenthood worker) is claiming the abortion clinic released the 15 year old into the custody of the pro-lifer -- for the weekend.

This is almost as strange was what happened at the abortion clinic -- but at least the abortion clinic did not release the girl into the custody of the boyfriend (who could have been over 18).

I would feel better if the police would investigate this.

I don't think the pro-lifer did anything wrong.

But it sounds like the abortion clinic was afraid of some charges because of the fact they released the girl into the custody of the pro-lifer...

“They would not allow her to leave the room she was in and locked the door,” she said.

Can we say “Kidnapping”?

YES WE CAN , I was on a jury almost 20 years ago where a man did exactly that to another mans girlfriend ,, held her hostage over a drug debt.

This is a kinder gentler killing place ,, they have abortion services and a birthing area... What better place to have your baby? The girl no doubt was told she was going for a prenatal visit ,, she had a sonogram and asked to see it.

I can’t imagine anyone actually using their birthing services .. it seems to me that it is just provided as a fig-leaf for their abortion customers ... if there are any protesters they can just say they are there for a legit prenatal appointment and keep walking.

***********************About Buffalo Womens Services*********

In a perverse attempt to normalize the killing of children in the womb, Buffalo Women’s Services, an abortion facility in Buffalo, New York, has added a “natural birthing center” to its building. The abortionist at the facility was quoted as saying, “It’s the same patient who is getting pregnant and continuing a pregnancy, and maybe next time . . . terminating a pregnancy, and next time maybe having a natural birth. These are all the same people.”

OK ,,, I don't know why it didn't strike me earlier ... When has anyone ever seen a LOCK on an interior door in a medical facility? obviously some areas need securing ,, pharmacy , "dirty" areas , "records" ... but exam rooms? I've never heard of that..

Agreed And I'm not suggesting the rescuer did anything per se wrong, I just wish our side would be a little smarter (sometimes) when battling this evil.

Without a police report of unlawful restraint, it becomes a matter of "she-said she-said, and can't we all just get along, no harm, no foul, blah, blah, blah."

Heck, even calling the local news about a instance of "unlawful imprisonment" might get some attention in the right city on a slow news day (of course the kid wouldn't be too keen on this one...).

a LOCK on an interior door

Sounds like a fire-code violation at the very least...

but this story smells

I thought the same. This reads like an article that people would like to believe.

I've never been to a clinic before, though.

You probably are aware that McCullen v. Coakley has been decided in favor of pro-lifers.

Grandma McCullen (she is 77 years old or older) won her case to be able to counsel girls/women at the abortion clinic.

Recently, two cities have dropped their buffer zones.

But is is unclear of what is left of another law that went to the US Supreme Court -- Hill v. Colorado.

This decision established bubble zones or floating buffer zones.

I think we might discussed this in private emails or something...

Yes - these days we’ll take all the good news we can.

Thank you for keeping me in mind.

An abortion facility allegedly locked a 15-year-old girl in an examining room

That is what our legal system refers to as 'kidnapping'. It is a felony in all 57 states.

This isn’t a medical facility. It is an abortion clinic. State medical standards do not apply here.

It might or might not comply with the standards for a “medical facility” or “freestanding outpatient surgical center” ,, I understand that on the abortion side of the building they will never be held to standards ,, however isn’t this a newly constructed or renovated facility with a legitimate “birthing” business also? It might be built to standards ,, I don’t know.

By now the stories will be constructed and rehearsed , it’ll degenerate into a 3 way finger pointing contest if any attempt to charge kidnapping is applied. You can bet that any video evidence from perhaps a multi camera DVR security system is long gone. And since this is in Buffalo NY which is just slightly less liberal than Detroit I say save your ammo for a ripe case in another jurisdiction ,, fight a fight that CAN be won.
