IMPORTANT GOP House Primary Races: And How You Can Help (South & Midwest)

Posted on 05/15/2014 1:52:48 PM PDT by campaignPete R-CT

THIS IS FOR THE SOUTH AND MIDWEST
(NORTHEAST, WEST, AND CALIFORNIA are in separate threads and updates are coming, see links below)
This is an update of previous threads.

There are numerous important House Primary Races! And places where we can WIN! PLEASE contribute! And if you can't contribute money ... the least we can do is go to their pages and give them a "like" or a tweet. All of these candidates are involved in primaries that are close (or could be close) against generally more moderate or liberal Republicans. All of these districts are winnable in November.

Georgia:
BARRY LOUDERMILK, GEORGIA-11, MAY 20th ... Open Seat

Endorsed by: Family Research Council, Concerned Women of America, Freedom Works, Senate Conservatives Fund

Barry Loudermilk -- FACEBOOK -- TWITTER -- DONATE

Loudermilk has a shot to sneak past opponent Bob Barr or opponent Ed Lindsey to finish in 2nd place and make the run-off. He appears to have more support than fellow conservative Tricia Pridemore, who is likely to finish in 4th place. The district is R+19, so this primary is a big deal.

Alabama:
Scott Beason, ALABAMA-6, June 3rd ... 2 CONSERVATIVES trying to get into the run-off in this OPEN SEAT.

GARY PALMER, ALABAMA-6, June 3rd ... 2 CONSERVATIVES trying to get into the run-off in this OPEN SEAT.
Endorsed by: Gary Bauer, Ralph Reed, Tony Perkins

Scott Beason

Gary Palmer

Gary Palmer -- FACEBOOK -- TWITTER -- DONATE

Conservatives Palmer and Mathis need to get into the run-off in this crowded primary. I think you will find that their opponents Brooke and DeMarco are not conservative enough for FreeRepublic, Alabama-style. Conservative Chad Matthis has spent his campaign resources attacking Palmer and Beason. Article on AL-6 poll is here.

Florida:
Lorenzo Palomares-Starbuck, FLORIDA-26, AUGUST 26th ... Winner takes on vulnerable DEM Rep. Joe Garcia in this R+4 district

Lorenzo Palomares-Starbuck -- FACEBOOK -- TWITTER -- DONATE

Opponent Curbelo is a big favorite to win the primary, but there are still 3 months to beat him. Either Lorenzo, with his grassroots campaign, or Dade County Commission Chairman Joe Martinez will make a challenge. Frontrunner Curbelo is a vocal supporter of "same-sex marriage".

Curbelo: "I have many gay friends. They are hard-working people. They love this country. And quite frankly I think most of them would be Republican if some in our party wouldn't express themselves in such an unfortunate way." Read more here.

Palomares-Starbuck: "Free enterprise is protected under the Constitution by the freedom of Association clause, under the First Amendment, under the right to privacy among other, a tax law scheme that is predicated on income base taxation tends to discriminate against those who endeavor to create wealth in the society."

Iowa: I am listing 2 candidates in the IA-3 race
MONTE SHAW, IOWA-3, JUNE 3RD ... Open Seat
Endorsed By: Greg Ganske, Former Congressman, Jon King, brother of U.S. Rep. Steve King

MATT SCHULTZ, IOWA-3, JUNE 3RD ... Open Seat ... 2 CONSERVATIVES trying to win this 6-way race.
Endorsed by: Rick Santorum, Tea Party Express, Senate Conservative Fund

Monte Shaw

Matt Schultz

Both candidates are getting conservative groups to support them. Hopefully, the folks in the district will do what is necessary to put one of them in first place on June 3rd over opponents Young and Zaun.

Michigan:
John Moolenaar, MICHIGAN-4, August 5th .... OPEN SEAT

JOHN MOOLENAAR -- FACEBOOK -- TWITTER -- DONATE

This race is just getting started, for Dave Camp's seat. Moolenaar is running against Paul Mitchell. The race needs further research by us. "I will be a strong conservative voice for the hard working families of mid and northern Michigan. In Michigan I have fought against overreaching government policies that are killing jobs and over burdening individuals,” said Senator Moolenaar."

Michigan:
Tom McMillin, MICHIGAN-8, August 5th .... OPEN SEAT

TOM MCMILLIN -- FACEBOOK -- TWITTER -- DONATE

This race is just getting started, for Mike Roger's seat. McMillin is running against Mike Bishop. The race needs further research by us.

McMillin's argument is here.

SOUTH & MIDWEST
This will continue to be updated periodically. The rest of country ... threads will be updated ... links are placed below in this thread.

Again, the criteria: the candidate must have a legit shot in NOV in their district and they are also in a tough primary fight against a candidate with lesser conservative appeal (or even a liberal).

Donate today. If broke, send $14 for victory in '14.

The GOP should give at least some token support to Terry Bowman for the Michigan 12th district seat against Debbie Dingell. Its an awfully high hurdle but if it costs the democrats some money that should be enough.

For all the work he put in for RTW in Michigan, this is one union worker who deserves some support.

The biggest and most important primary of all. Defeating Eric Cantor in VA-7. David Brat is the man.

David Brat for Congress

Technically, there are no primaries in LA-6 and LA-5 McAllister, but we’ll add those here in coming weeks.

What good is a like or a tweet to a pol that just wants your cash?

Makes you feel warm and fuzzy, just like a liberal twitter.

A candidate that raises 90K is not gonna beat a candidate that raises 5 million.

“What good is a like or a tweet”

ping to ConMan55 ... the originator of the ping/tweet contribution.

Actually, end of quarter reports press releases often include a report of how many individuals donated during the quarter .... so a bunch of $5 contributors is good publicity cuz they just report the $ total and the number. Any House candidate with over 400 donors is impressive. But the Like/Tweet numbers .... it is unclear what the impact is. ConMan??

When you like something or tweet something.. you are publicly showing your support.

I have 900 facebook friends. When I like something.. all 900 see that I have thrown my support to a particular candidate and they also see his or her name.

Same with tweeting.

What do we make of the controversy about Beason ... just tell D.C. to screw? Palmer isn’t getting much traction I think.

And which candidate in IA will make a surge?
