Fast food worker strikes planned in 150 cities

The fast-food worker strikes are expanding to more U.S. cities and going global.

Workers in up to 150 cities across the country are planning to strike on May 15, according to labor organizers.

The movement is also headed overseas, with plans for workers to join protests in 33 countries.

On Wednesday, the workers announced the protests outside a McDonald's in New York City, and delivered a letter that called on the fast food giant to raise wages and respect workers' rights worldwide.

However, security guards didn't allow the workers to bring the letter inside the restaurant. So, they posted the letter on the door. It was removed soon after.

Free country. Let 'em shoot themselves in the foot.

(Tho what they should be protesting is their inferior, union-made public school educations, condemning them to the fast food jobs.)

Apparently theyhave not figured out that the reason people eat at these place is that the food is cheap (and fast, of course). If the costs of producing the food cause up so do the prices. Bye bye customers. Bye bye jobs.

A strike means your order will be screwed up the same as always.
Fast food jobs are SUPPOSED to be short term, unless you go into management, then you will be required to work and think.

We do not and have not eaten any name brand fast foods for years. We use the local, family owned greasy spoons every where we go.

The left seems to think that the fast food industry occupies some sort of ordained position in this country's economy. The truth is they all exist on a razor's edge of people hitting the snooze button one more time rather than getting up the five minutes early enough to fix a peanut butter sandwitch to take with them. Raise the cost of food enough, and people will choose the sandwich and less sleep.

Good, fast, cheap ... pick any 2.

Eliminate cheap and Burger-Doodle Inc is going have to cut back on the peeps behind the counter.

I suspect this is the fly in the ointment--nobody really needs fast food joints. Demand is likely to prove unexpectedly elastic.

I stopped reading RIGHT HERE-———

“Tisdale lives in his father’s house in Brooklyn with his girlfriend and two young children. He earns $8 an hour and works between 14 and 23 hours a week. “

Cool.
I will happily cross a picket line in my area. Then eat a sandwich in front of them, reading a copy of Thomas Sowell’s “Basic Economics”.
