The fast-food worker strikes are expanding to more U.S. cities and going global.
Workers in up to 150 cities across the country are planning to strike on May 15, according to labor organizers.
The movement is also headed overseas, with plans for workers to join protests in 33 countries.
On Wednesday, the workers announced the protests outside a McDonald's in New York City, and delivered a letter that called on the fast food giant to raise wages and respect workers' rights worldwide.
However, security guards didn't allow the workers to bring the letter inside the restaurant. So, they posted the letter on the door. It was removed soon after.

I haven’t eaten fast “food” in years.
Let them strike.
If they’re worth more, they’ll get it.
Lotsa high school kids looking for jobs!
Don’t they do this every couple of weeks now?
Does anyone notice?
There’s a reason why they are fast-food workers...
What is badly needed here is for all Americans to strike the fast food joints due to raising costs. Two can play this game.
I guess fast food workers are the left’s latest useful idiots.
Will hasten the automation of fast food service.
“Workers in up to 150 cities across the country are planning to strike on May 15, according to labor organizers”
SEIU setting one of the Dems major memes for the Summer/fall campaign season, Raise the Minimum wage.
Watch how many of the “Strikers” were just hired within the last few days, or weeks, if at all.
So fast food will become more automated. Orders will simply be taken by machine and cashiers will be out of a job.
Increasingly even the cooking will be automated. Fast food isn’t complicated.
These idiots are too politically and economically ignorant to realize they are essentially protesting against their own jobs.
Once upon a time during university I worked as a bank teller. The bank was putting in more ATM’s that could cash checks (including dispensing coins) and do pretty much everything a teller could do. The bank trainers had a meeting with the tellers and told them how wonderful this would be because it would reduce lines. The tellers seemed very excited about this and all the free time they would have. Pretty much none of these fools realized the bank wasn’t going to keep tellers on the line if they had less customers to serve. These advanced ATM’s were designed to replace them and none of these people could process that was what was happening.
Yep, it’s summer!
Latest astroturf, but yeah, idiots.
Go to McDonalds et all the day before the strike . . . go back in the day after the strike . . . and don’t be surprised to see a whole new crew.
Not going to happen here. No fast food. I think it explodes at 9494’.
One worker plans to protest in 150 cities?
Go ahead and protest. McDonald’s has a solution...
May 15????? Wouldn’t May 1 been more appropriate? Or were they too busy at their parade that day?
I would have to drive 20 miles to get fast food. Where can I find Slow Food.
Anything to distract from Obamacare, Benghazi, IRS, Fast And Furious, VA Hospital breakdown....etc. Sort of reminds me of what a dog does after he poops.
(Tho what they should be protesting is their inferior, union-made public school educations, condemning them to the fast food jobs.)
Apparently theyhave not figured out that the reason people eat at these place is that the food is cheap (and fast, of course). If the costs of producing the food cause up so do the prices. Bye bye customers. Bye bye jobs.
A strike means your order will be screwed up the same as always.
Fast food jobs are SUPPOSED to be short term, unless you go into management, then you will be required to work and think.
We do not and have not eaten any name brand fast foods for years. We use the local, family owned greasy spoons every where we go.
Going to Chik FilA.
In a crock pot ..LOL!
“I havent eaten fast food in years.”
Not fast food.....good food quickly.
Hey! Thanks for the warnin’, y’all!
I’ve already got my seat reserved at my favorite Chinese restaurant!
The left seems to think that the fast food industry occupies some sort of ordained position in this country's economy. The truth is they all exist on a razor's edge of people hitting the snooze button one more time rather than getting up the five minutes early enough to fix a peanut butter sandwitch to take with them. Raise the cost of food enough, and people will choose the sandwich and less sleep.
I would never know about it. If a tree fell in a forest.........
"Pay attention to your enemies, for they are the first to discover your mistakes."
Eliminate cheap and Burger-Doodle Inc is going have to cut back on the peeps behind the counter.
That would be a good day to go in and fill out a job application.
Fast Food on strike!
I stopped reading RIGHT HERE-———
“Tisdale lives in his father’s house in Brooklyn with his girlfriend and two young children. He earns $8 an hour and works between 14 and 23 hours a week. “
i don’t eat crap food.
I will happily cross a picket line in my area. Then eat a sandwich in front of them, reading a copy of Thomas Sowell’s “Basic Economics”.
More of them are pedigreed and approved than ever before, so they probably feel entitled.
Same here—no fast food, even when driving over 200 miles to the nearest large city and back.
Friend of mine called me today to state that in the Midland, Texas area a sign for “Whataburger” said that starting pay was $19 a hour and managers start at $59,000 with a $30,000 signing bonus.
Top that McDonald’s.
And who would care???
