As a loyal and faithful Catholic, I do not think popes are “infallible”. ESPECIALLY THIS ONE!!!!!!!!!!

I’m tired of his Marxist pronouncements. Cannot distinguish between him and BHO when it comes to economic policy.

Foreign aid can best be described as taking money from poor people in rich countries and giving it to rich people in poor countries.

Which is exactly how all "redistribution" schemes work out.

I love Pope Francis. Seriously. He is the best thing that has happened to Catholicism since Pope (now Saint) John Paul II.

Pope Francis will be happy to know we in the US are well on our way of redistributing all our wealth to the less wealthy through a number of well intentioned social programs.

The programs are funded in large part by those Christian loving Chinese, are making us a nation of lazy dependents and will ultimately bankrupt the Country. Then, there will be no more wealth to redistribute. Other than that, it is all good.

VATICAN CITY (AP) - Pope Francis called Friday for governments to redistribute wealth to the poor in a new spirit of generosity to help curb the “economy of exclusion” that is taking hold today.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Seriously? Are you kidding me?
If the Pope ever gets tired of running the Catholic Church; he’d be damn good at running the Democratic National Committee.
Reagan had JP2 and Maggie and took down the Soviets. We have Obama and Francis and Fidel, and the Soviets will take us down.
redistribute wealth to the poor in a new spirit of generosity t
Before the Pope haters pile on, this is inline with the best traditions of Christian capitalism. Redistributing wealth to the poor through "generosity" is called charity and it worked really well in this country before cradle-to-grave entitlements came along, paid for with back-breaking tax burdens that take away the ability of families to help to the truly needed.
God help us all. the Pope is now officially advocating the forcible taking of the fruit of one man’s labor to benefit others. What is it they used to call that? Why not do this; reform the Crusades and take from the Muslims all they have stolen over the centuries. Redistribute that, if you want.
I wonder if GOD gave us the million dollar lotteries to demonstrate to us what happens when money is given instead of earned? The lesson is lost on us.
The Vatican website say that Pope Francis said “legitimate redistribution of benefits. Why did the AP change that to redistribution of wealth? That’s what I want to know.
I’m sure the Pope thinks it is immoral to ignore the truly poor, hungry, needy. I do too. But I wonder if the Pope thinks it’s immoral to rob people of their initiative and their work ethic, and to effectively run fathers out of the home, by addicting families and generations to public assistance? I wonder if he thinks it’s immoral to rob a person at gunpoint, then turn around and give the loot to someone else, someone considered more deserving? Forced redistribution of wealth is every bit as immoral as ignoring helpless widows and orphans.
As a retired Catholic who has had an opportunity to do business with the Church in the past, I am constrained to point out to His Holiness that the Church itself has vast liquid assets it can redistribute for this purpose immediately. Like right now...today.
If the Church wanted to liquidate some of its more illiquid asset base (which is truly galactic in scale) over a longer period, I'm certain that those assets, once turned to cash, would also yield considerable redistributable wealth.
All His Holiness needs is the courage to make the decision.
Taking without consent and recompense is THEFT.
I think the bible has something to say about that.
Charity is good but when it's not voluntary it's not charity.
Sorry, Pope, but the governments you encourage to partner with you in this effort will extract the money at gunpoint. Where in the Gospels did Christ teach that the threat of violence was ok?
Of course, governments will fall all over themselves to support you in this matter, along with their Media toadies, because this is yet another way to expand Big Government, just like Global Warming.
The poor are with us BECAUSE of government. Think of your own land Argentina - it was one of the wealthiest countries until the redistributionists took over.
Pope - get a clue before spouting about matters you know little about. You're gonna make things worse. More government is not the solution to ANYTHING.
