Two Dallas police officers have been indicted in the last two weeks for shooting and wounding residents in incidents where the initial police accounts were later contradicted by video. Cardan Spencer and Amy Wilburn were both charged with aggravated assault by a public servant.

Spencer was indicted last week after shooting a 52-year-old man standing several feet away from him. A police report filed in the case initially claimed the man, Bobby Bennett, lunged at Spencer with a knife.

A neighbor’s surveillance video camera captured video that showed Bennett was several feet from the officers and didn’t appear to move toward them before gunfire caused him to crumple to the ground. Bennett was hospitalized for several weeks following the October incident. …

When I saw the video I was infuriated. Theae cops are homicidal maniacs.

But police union leader Ron Pinkston said the indictments are a bad signal to send to officers dealing with potentially life-threatening situations

Interesting, I don't want to see any one shot or killed in error, but this clown seems to imply that they should just leave the cops unmonitored so that they are not inhibited from defending themselves. Funny thing, he does seem to be too concerned with the innocents being shot, killed or railroaded by officers that have no business being on the force. If these people really want to be able to hurt others with impunity I suggest they they move to a Arab country and go muslin.

How times have changed. A few years ago criticizing the police on this site was risky business. Now the abuse is so outrageous and obvious.

People are sick and tired of the blind rage and authoritarian and murderous actions of modern day cops.

I chalk it up to a “sign of the times” & “love waxing cold”.

The victim did not respect his authority so he had to die.

When I worked EMS, there were several times we just sat down and waited it out.

“both charged with aggravated assault by a public servant”

Which is at least a misdemeanor. After all, we must protect the JBTs at all cost.

After all, the victims were only peasants. It’s not like they were important or anything.

Yet idiot liberals believe that you don’t need a gun to protect you because we have a police force.

Police MUST be allowed to murder citizens or there will be more names on the wall. Is that what that a** is saying?!

He probably shot because the circumstances fit what he was trained to do in police academy; that is, “If you, in your sole opinion, feel threatened, you may use deadly force.” And of course, it’s corollary is the all-important “then you get to go home safely that night.”

Now the abuse is so outrageous and obvious.

Which abuse? The FR posters' or the police's? Criticism isn't always abuse.

This is LE mentality. ME ME ME ME. And notice such an obvious crime took months to finally charge the criminals?

Well us citizens consider this a GOOD message. One needed more often. That there are still restrictions on the use of deadly force. Deadly force requires REASONABLE fear, not “My wife bitched at me this morning and I’m in a bad mood.”

News flash to the LEO’s, the citizens need to be able to trust you. Trust that your judgement is sound, that you’re honest, and that you will police your own. This attitude by the union thug is exactly the OPPOSITE of that. People complain about cop haters, but never take time to figure out why so many people think so poorly of cops. Well, here is part of your answer.

But you weren’t looking for an adrenaline rush. Too many cops are looking for Robocop levels of excitement. And if they don’t get it, they make it.

Here is a treat showing what some, far to many, are recruiting.

One wanted servants, the other appealed to every high school bully and thrill seeker they can find.

Cops have traditionally hated to shoot people. I wonder if there is a drug issue (non-steroids) that removes the anxiety about it.
