Minnesotas Senate race isnt one of the best chances for Republicans to pick up a seat, but a new poll shows that its a possibility. A new Suffolk University poll finds Democratic incumbent Al Franken leading all four, relatively unknown Republican candidates, but he fails to pick up majority support from voters.
In four head-to-head match-ups with declared Republican candidates, Franken gets roughly 44 percent support to the Republicans 29 percent. While his lead is in the double digits, the gap falls within the percentage of Minnesotans who say they remain undecided on who to support. Nearly one-fifth, or 19 percent, responded that they do not yet know whether they would back Franken or his Republican challengers.
Republicans also have plenty of room to grow. At least 59 percent of respondents said they had never heard of the four candidates: state representative Jim Abeler, county commissioner Chris Dahlberg, businessman Mike McFadden, and state senator Julianne Ortman. The survey showed McFadden and Ortman lead the crowded field in the Republican party with 12 and 14 percent, respectively (62 percent were undecided).
Meanwhile, Frankens favorability rating is also below 50 percent, with only 46 percent giving him a positive rating and 41 percent give him an unfavorable rating, closely mirroring President Obamas ratings in the state.

If you put a gun to my head I could not tell you the name of one of the many Republicans vying for the nomination.
These polls mean nothing at this point.
The votes on election day won’t matter either. There is a 0% chance Franken will lose.
Sarah Palin endorsed Julianne Ortman. The Establishment is behind Mike McFadden.
Based on those numbers at this point, I’d say Franken is toast. The rats can realistically only steal 2 or 3 percent and he’s going to lose by a much larger percentage than that.

Well aren’t you the little pessimist!
I usually go to the Republican caucus. If I can’t name a candidate you think a typical Minnesotan would be able to? So any poll at this point is sort of a generic voting poll.
The take away is that less then 50% of Minnesotans will vote for Funny boy no mater who the republican is.
Not good news for Funny Boy.
And fewer than 30% of Minnesotans will vote for the Republican. That's not a reason for crowing either.
Mn Republicans have really fouled the brand name the past 10 years.
I’m 6 foot tall. Smally didn’t win the first time either. Why would the Rats allow votes to get in the way of his ugly face gracing the capital for another 6 years?
Propaganda
McFadden can self-finance and match Franken dollar for dollar, thereby draining Rat resources elsewhere
Minnesota demodummies are already counting the votes from the last election to be included with the upcoming election. Gotta make hay while the sun shines and there is no one there to stop them. I’m sure they will find additional votes in someone’s trunk if needed.
Franken wins, just like last time he’ll find a whole bunch of vehicles stuffed with lost ballots.
I wonder what Democrat controls the PCs that track the illegal and dead voters.
