(LAS VEGAS, KXNT, ASSOCIATED PRESS)–A funeral service was held in NOrth Las Vegas for the man who died at the hands of BLM agents during a skirmish in Red Rock Canyon in February.
The service for D’Andre Berghardt Jr. took place at Nehemiah Ministries Christian Church.
Berghardt was moving from Los Angeles to Las Vegas to begin working with his brother when he was shot and killed Feb. 14.
Jacob Hafter, a lawyer representing the family says that various delays, including the forensic examination of Berghardt’s body, contributed to the delay of the funeral and burial. Hafter says the family still has questions about the circumstances of Berghardt. “If we find the authorities did not handle the situation correctly because of improper training or whatever the case may be, then yes, we will pursue justice through the only system we have in this country, which is our court system”, said Hafter in an interview at the funeral with KXNT.
According to BLM officials, Berghardt made threats to kill and tried to grab a rifle from a Nevada Highway Patrol vehicle before he was shot.

I find this scenario more likely than the one the BLM and LVPD publicly released version (yarn). Anyone who has had any face time with a surly (is there really any other kind these days) LEO out on the road knows what that is like.

He also could have been a diabetic and suffering from low blood sugar. If so he would have appeared and acted as if he were drunk or even high on drugs. Okay, so there were 2 BLM guys there and at least one NHP trooper, (all with “significant law enforcement training”), within baton, taser and pepper spray range............and they couldn’t just gang tackle this freakin’ 20 year old kid when those 3 methods ‘didn’t work’ out for ‘em?!!? They could not manage a 3, (all armed), on 1, (not armed), situation without using their firearms with all of their “experience and training”!!?! Nope, of course not! That is no fun! Yep, these Jack Boot ‘Roided up Thugs just had to fire away and get their rocks off. I’m sure all of the boot slurpin’ badge lickin’ cop-suckers will arrive soon to defend these jerks.
They are Federal Law Enforcement Officers, and go to the fed academy in Glynco. I think it is very wrong for them to be federal officers; even though they have to go to the academy, I cannot imagine that they keep up/improve their law enforcement skills since they rarely use them.
In a state where 85% of the land is Federal, what are the chances he was walking next to BLM land along the road?

“On Friday, February 14, 2014, the BLM received several reports from citizens who were concerned for the safety of a man walking along the highly trafficked State Route 159 highway. The citizens reported the man was walking in and out of on-coming traffic. In addition, two cyclists who were bicycling along the highway reported seeing this same man and expressed fear for themselves and the safety of others in the area.
BLM Law Enforcement Officers were dispatched to the scene, and upon arrival made contact with the man later identified as 20-year-old D’Andre Berghardt Jr. BLM officers attempted to speak with Mr. Berghardt in order to ascertain his identity and welfare. At this point, officers ordered Mr. Berghardt out of the roadway.”

So, while Mr. Bundy offends people by using archaic terms for African-Americans, the BLM just SHOOTS them?
reminds me of a story that happened in a marina here is philly. The DEA agents (had a boat there) were drinking all day when a fight broke out somewhere near the kitchen of the club. One of the cooks appeared with a knife. Probably just curious while he was chopping something in the kitchen. DEA shot him dead on the spot. The DEA guys all left the next day never to be seen again, boat gone as well. I think the club was called the Amazon Club at the time.
