MILITIA TO BLM: ‘WE ARE PREPARED TO USE DEADLY FORCE’
Breitbart ^ | April 24, 2014 | By Bob Price

Posted on 04/25/2014 2:43:35 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

One of the militia groups who joined the effort to “protect” the Bundy family and their ranch from the armed Bureau of Land Management (BLM) rangers admitted they are prepared to use deadly force in self-defense in Nevada or Texas. Several militia groups have joined ranks to provide “protection” to keep the BLM from taking property from the Bundy Ranch, most of which operates on federally owned land.

Scott Shaw, co-founder of the Oklahoma Volunteer Militia says he is just an average American who goes to work every day and pays his taxes. He described his militia members as “every-day citizens ...We just have a strong conviction for freedom and liberty and upholding the Constitution. We are just here in case our court system fails us and we have to stand up to the federal government.”

In talking about the armed force of BLM rangers, Shaw described it as questionable. “If you’re there to get your money back that [Cliven Bundy] allegedly owes you, there are several ways you can do that in a court of law. You can put a lien on his property; you can put a lien on his cattle. If it truly was about getting back the back fees, why did [the BLM] take the cattle, or round the cattle up, which are the asset you’re going to sell--why would you kill several of those?” Recent reports revealed several cattle that were killed allegedly by the BLM during the standoff earlier this month.

Shaw affirmed that his militia members who deployed to Nevada were armed with a variety of military style weapons including AR-15s, AK-47s and others. They also include precision shooting firearms like deer hunting rifles and other military surplus items...

F’ Beck and Vannity. I am so done with both of them Vannity couldn't wait to throw Bundy under the bus.

Different tools for different things. Most times I will take a bolt action rifle. There was a time in SE Asia when I would of loved to be able to hold two M2’s and never run out of ammo.

It must be made a sacred maxim, that the militia obey the executive power, which represents the whole people, in the execution of laws. To suppose arms in the hands of citizens, to be used at individual discretion, except in private self-defence, or by partial orders of towns, counties, or districts of a state, is to demolish every institution, and lay the laws prostrate, so that liberty can be enjoyed by no man — it is a dissolution of the government. The fundamental law of the militia is, that it be created, directed, and commanded by the laws, and ever for the support of the laws.

- John Adams (1787)

They are weak, contemptible men. Their time has passed.

We need men with a Warrior mindset who will without hesitation call the tyrants in government what they are -- Marxists.

We need men like William Wallace.

If you have seen Braveheart you will recognize Beck and Hannity -- they are Longshank's girly son.

I found this local article backing Bundy, seems she grew up on a ranch and understands the water issue.

“they are prepared to use deadly force “

The BLM used “deadly force” in killing Bundy’s cattle, but was it reasonable under the circumstances?

Anyone actually prepared to defend himself or herself, and their family, is prepared to use reasonable force under the circumstances—which may include deadly force. So what Shaw is saying isn’t really that extraordinary.

Of course DUmpster Divers—and even a few here—will fluster: “I swan! Oh my goodness gracious, me oh my—`Deadly force’! That’s really extreme, maybe even racist, Heavens to Murgatroyd—where are my smelling salts!?”

I guess that settles it?

Say remember the scene in “Wanted” with Angelina Jolie and James McAvoy with the rats, watches and peanut butter. Hilarity ensues anytime rats and peanut butter mix.

“I swan!"

Not wishing to derail the thread, I have to mention as an aside that I got a kick out of "I swan!". It's an interesting idiom, primarily used in the South. I only occasionally hear it nowadays but in my younger days, it was used more frequently, along with "play pretty". Those regionalisms do take me back to what I think was a better time in America.

Historical facts about the ownership of the land in question

Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo (1848 - Article II section 2 treaty) transfer ownership of the land from Mexico to the US

Nevada admitted as a state to the union (1864). Congress requires that the state ceded control of “unappropriated public lands” to the US Government. Nevada includes in their constitution this concession to the government.

The lands are part of what is called the Lake Mead National Recreation area and includes a number of buildings including dock-yards, and other needful buildings as listed in Article I section 8 under the enumerated powers of Congress.

My dad always said well I swannee and sometimes said well I declare and my mother told me all the time to play pretty. I still grew up a total hellion. Now I drive my husband nutty, if he doesn’t answer or acknowledge what I have said to him I will pummel with, “say” (from my mother). Like I said I grew up a hellion.

Appreciate the input.

Article I Section 8 - well you're probably referring to the commerce clause which has become blank check for the feds. But I don't buy that becasue the Constitution in no way, shape, or form gives the feds a blank check.

So I think it would be worth the states to go through all these federal lands and get specific constitutional grounds for the feds continued ownership. I think the feds own way too much land.

That is a wise and excellent statement until the Executive becomes the most
lawless entity in the land doing more than any other to lay the law prostrate.

I've had a few bolt actions.... A couple years ago I had a Model 70 bolt action Winchester .270...that was a fine gun. Got a Model 88 Winchester lever action .308 now...Love it.

Both guns fine....shooting rifles.

I'm a bit torn on what I like best in caliber....308. .270. 7 mag, 300 mag...I've shot them all...and like them all. What do you like,,and why?

Regardless of what Beck or Hannity say, fight fire with fire!

Beck, Hannity, now Megan are fools. Don't know where O'Rielly stand since I can't listen to this fool. America is corrupt beyond belief since they had no right to hold on to the land once the Southwest States were accepted in the Union. The Federal Government is a communists organized institution and it is sad it has gone so far in hell.
