No they are not happy. Unless they have left the democratic plantation and are thinking for themselves.

A good response by him, but he can’t win this. They have an angle are will play it.

Exactly.

Plantation slavery has been exchanged for government dependency and with truly horrifying results.

but it shows an incredibly poor understanding of American history,

The calamitous breakdown of the black family is a comparatively recent phenomenon, coinciding precisely with the rise of the welfare state. Throughout the epoch of slavery and into the early decades of the twentieth century, most black children grew up in two-parent households.
Post-Civil War studies revealed that most black couples in their forties had been together for at least twenty years. In southern urban areas around 1880, nearly three-fourths of black households were husband-or father-present; in southern rural settings, the figure approached 86%. As of 1940, the illegitimacy rate among blacks nationwide was approximately 15%—scarcely one-fifth of the current figure.
As late as 1950, black women were more likely to be married than white women, and only 9% of black families with children were headed by a single parent.

No - this was not responding to a question - the original statement - it was a stupid desire to impress his audience with his philosophical “depth” and it was a colossal FAIL!

You are living so far in the dark that there is no hope for the likes of you. Bundy has a right to express why the Federal Government entrapping the blacks has destroyed millions of blacks sole just the same as the BLM is trying to destroy the Farmers. It is the Federal Government that is overreaching to entrap the black vote like Ried is trying to entrap Farmers. So just go on living in the darkness.

Nice post. Should have included something about the NRA.

He can’t win if we don’t support him!

Cliven Bundy:

"Slavery is about when you take away choices and, I, uh, where you have forced labor. And [] that for people who sell them and all those kinds of things.Do you think that’s what America’s all about? Do you think that’s what I’m about, America? If it is, you’re sure wrong, ‘cause I don’t believe in any of that type of stuff. I believe that a man should have free agency>”

Cliven Bundy said and I quote: “I’ve often wondered, are they better off as slaves, picking cotton and having a family life and doing things, or are they better off under government subsidy? They didn’t get more freedom. They got less freedom.” No truer words have ever been spoken. And THAT is why the Left has their balls in an uproar.

Slaves had a "family life"? When their master could rape their wife anytime he felt like it, and their children could be taken from them and sold to another master? Not my idea of an ideal family life.

So no, "truer words" have indeed been spoken.

I agree, just like the idiots that make statements about rape, commenting on women’s appearance etc.

NOT HELPING.

Frankly, a lot of these old geezers in politics have got to go. Besides so many of them having running off at the mouth disease, they don’t seem to realize that today’s media is not the media they were used to way back when.

I don’t see how government dependency is much better than plantation slavery.

Both have the effect of reducing people to the lowest common denominator.

At least people worked under slavery and did something.

Yep! The discussion is now about slavery and racism. I thought we supported Cliven Bundy because of his fight against an overreaching BLM, but I see we are supporting him because of his views on government handouts and slavery. Good to know!!

Boy, that Bundy is a SLY one!

You are way off beam here bucko! Of course Bundy has the right to express anything he wants to express - show me where I’ve said differently. You have the right to shout the f-word in church too...but it’s just not very smart.

Tell me this - has Bundy’s cause been furthered by his ill-advised statement? Or has it been sidelined in favor of this slavery/handout/racism discussion?

Do you see how many people have jumped off of his wagon? Do you see how everybody still on his wagon is busy explaining his comments? A STUPID MOVE strategically. But everyone has a constitutional right to be stupid (just to make sure you understand I’m not trying to deprive anybody of their rights). And the liberals are DELIRIOUS with joy that Cliven handed over the diversion they were so desperately searching for; especially Harry Reid. Is it any wonder Reid feels invincible? Every time he’s on the ropes, his enemies dependably spout out something truly stupid...and WAAAAAAYYYYY off topic, and the focus shifts off Harry and onto his enemies.

Seems someone else said the same thing Bundy said...

Star Parker - Uncle Sam's Plantation: How Big Government Enslaves America's Poor and What You Can Do About It

"Parker, a former welfare mother, has seen first hand the damage that a life of dependency renders. Years of massive government spending have left America's inner cities in shambles, black families destroyed, and youth uneducated and directionless."...

"Through the welfare system, "Uncle Sam has developed a sophisticated poverty plantation, operated by a federal government, overseen by bureaucrats, protected by media elite, and financed by the taxpayers. The only difference between this plantation and the slave plantations of the antebellum South is perception."

Look, my friend. I am NOT defending the institution of slavery. And neither was Cliven Bundy.

He just doesn’t see how things are much better off with so many blacks being dependent upon government.

I live in an inner city area. I know first hand how government dependency has destroyed the black community. All of the children being born out of wedlock. All of the gangbanging and drug dealing. All of the Food Stamps and welfare checks. Guys walking around covered from head to toe with piercings and tattooes and their asses hanging out of their trousers.

I know many blacks don’t live this insane way and dysfunctional way. But far too many are. The work ethic is non existent. Welfare dependency, drug dependency, chaos, lawlessness, anarchy reign supreme.

Quite frankly I don’t view this way of living much better than slavery. And I think that was the point Cliven Bundy was trying to make if I’m not mistaken.

I want to applaud him just for not apologizing like any mealymouthed politician would have. Say what you mean, mean what you say; and stick to it.

Why aren't the conservatives in the media using this to put the democrats on the defense about what they have done for the minority's. Instead this one of those issues we can't talk about. At some point we have to stop letting the left choose our battle field.

Enough of saying: Don't talk about abortion, war on women; don't say anything about minorities, racist; don't' talk about immigration, racist. How long before we let them remove taxes, defense, and every other issue from the platform? The conservatives in the media would be wise to stop attacking folks on their own side every time the left tells them to.

The sarcasm in your comment is palpable.

That said, this is a conversation we’d better have and it needs to be based on the facts! If we continue to allow the left to use their EMOTION BASED nonsense to beat us up on it, this nation will be divided forever — and the left will be in power forever.

“Yeah, well don’t tell THEM that - there are whole lucrative industries based on “my ancestor, whatever their name was, was a slave to someone else’s ancestor” and so therefore you ALL OWE ME.”

Kind of a weird point to make on a thread about a guy claiming ancestral rights to land he doesn’t own.
